With all due much and deserved respect to the Cooper program, this was supposed to be their year from what I understood. Although, I don't know too much about Collins, but I hear both sides of the plate about him. Next year will begin a tell all season as he graduates a large number of varsity player this year and the upcoming JV squad has talent coming up as well. I think Jaguar baseball will continue to thrive as long as the coach/player chemistry grows stronger.

They will put him where he best helps the team. He can play both sides of the ball, but I think inside defense is his strength at DI.

BJ has the potential for a DI school. Does anyone know if he's doing college camps this summer? I wish I could have kept a closer relationship with him to work with him, but I would still love to see him perform at some of these oline/dline camps that are out there in one on ones. The young man can be a beast!

I agree with catchers and pitchers, but the JV squad had issues at that 3rd base as well. I don't recall anyone performing to a Varsity standard. IMO Fugate and Fox were the two consistent outstanding infielders. Bridley played a great deal in the outfield, first base, SS, and third. The kid has a non stop motor which is to his benefit.

That's were I get confused with this whole back and forth thing. If you're good enough to "START" in a varsity game, stay there and play varsity. Let JV continue developing and preparation for the players that are not at that "Varsity" caliper. JMO as a coach.

Just curious because I believe he also started the JV tourney game against Ryle. Just don't understand why you would start a player at both levels when you carry a 18+ rostered JV squad. Cooper also has a another very good frosh at SS in Larry (not sure of the last name).

So he starts Varsity and JV at 3rd?

With Cooper moving to 6A, whomever steps up, better grow quickly! The upcoming Junior class is pretty decent and should provide some good athletes in several different positions, and the rising sophs will provide talent as well.

This player mentioned is a good football player that has always been slightly bigger than his classmates in youth football. While he has not grown much since, he is still a good football player who will be a part of the CCH football program, but to label him a stud is overkill.

I'll spice the story up for y'all! How about………….does these three Kenton County Schools winning State Basketball Championships put pressure on Boone County schools to move to "Open Enrollment"? Maybe then, but for now I see no pressure.

I agree that they do a great job, but that's not to say that any other school could not do just as well if not better. Then you have the opportunity to occasionally enjoy your pop, pretzels and popcorn while watching some pretty good basketball. :thumb:

I think it's a big advantage, because you simply get more realism for field vision and speed on the field than you do in the gym. What do you think?

Just an opinion that the it allows another year of physical and mental maturity for them. Nothing personal against them.

Ruthsatz being a player of his grade ( non holdback) is hands down POY. The kid is ice cold with his confidence in his shot and ability to take over a game. Regardless of the so called flop move, he knows how to drive and how to beat you with his outside shot. Similar to Beatle but just A bit more consistant and effective. I like the the way the kid runs the court/team.

I WILL!!! The video posted is horrible quality and I watched it on a 27 inch Mac Thunderbolt High Res monitor and I still can't say 100% that it went in from the angle the video shows. However, the points were put up (not by the ref though)..so mute point.

If it truly went in, why did the ref not signal 3 pointer good?? That's the main question. There was NO signal from either of the 3 refs for a 2 or 3 pointer. Just a bad situation all together.

For the record, the score keeper does not decide if a basket is good or not. The ref made no signal, so they assumed the basket was good because Cooper inbound the ball. Shakey crew that just missed a call and a decision was made that proved costly according to the score. Either way, game is over CCH got the win. You never want to say a ref decides a game, but they sure can change one. At one point CCH was up 7 to 1 on foul count, game should have been put away there, but the jags kept battling and came up just short.

Why is this played at CCH every year? Do the other high schools have the opportunity to step up and host this tourney?

Lawnboy13, you usually make some great comments on here, but to call the BCBOE idiotic is a bit tough. Yes, there were times when the roads in most places were clear later in the day, but when your making a decision for an entire district, all it takes is for one child living out in the Boonies to be injured due to road conditions and then thousands of fingers are pointed back at the BCBOE for forcing a child (not an experienced FED EX Driver :thumb:) to drive in those conditions. I don't believe it to be idiotic, just trying to do the right thing.

There's nothing wrong with dads coaching if the dads know to coach to his strengths and not their kids. i have coached my kids for years, but every kid I coach gets equal attention if not more. A "GOOD" coach coaches his knowledge and experience to the team not a specific kid. If they don't fit that model, they should not be coaching.
