Congrats Coach Engler!

 

Coach Engler was the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for Lexington Catholic.

I don't understand what the outrage was. Guy from a great program that specializes on the side of the ball where Ryle has struggled. Sounds like a good hire to me.

Adding to that, I just got off the phone with someone completely independent of BGP (who has nice football credentials) and he raved about Coach Engler.

Wow. Now I know why people in Union are upset about their boy Woolf not getting the job. Iam sure the new coach is legit and can coach but Iam sorry to say I have never heard of him and for a school the size of Ryle with the resources they have I would have thought at least LC Head Coach Letton or somebody of the same caliber.

So what was the reason for him not being considered for the LC job if he was the "assistant head coach" there?

 

Something tells me the pool of candidates for this job was thinner than most think.

Passed over 3 times while on staff at LexCath for that job. Not bringing anyone with him on freshman , varsity or jv so how much really changes in union? He is really old for the job. Woolf is going to coach with him so how much changes ?

Older guy no ties to nky, passed over three times at old school and expected to keep lots of people in place. Terrible.

I think keeping a lot of people in place is was kept a lot of people away from the job in the first place.

Passed over at his school kind of like Woolf was passed over? Just throwing some perspective into the thought process.

I take it the Lynch name was leaked to lower expectations?

LexCath changed coaches three times in his 24 years there , so not really like Woolf.

Turner hired lexcaths sloppy seconds and thirds.
