Voice of Reason Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 One down, one to go ... right, ennam_iv?
Walter Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Have been saying all year that Dixie was clearly the 4th best team in the region. Good win for Coach Chevy and his team.
two bad teams Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Dixie is who we thought they were. The 4th best team in the region.
Oldbird Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Weren't we hearing a week ago Cooper was #4 in nky?
ennam_iv Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Dixie is who we thought they were. The 4th best team in the region. Kinda like being told you are better looking than Walter... (sigh)
ennam_iv Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Weren't we hearing a week ago Cooper was #4 in nky? Yeah, where is that Clyde guy? I wish he was at the game! I would have given him a piece of my mind!
ennam_iv Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 One down, one to go ... right, ennam_iv? Friday at Boone, then on to districts.
ennam_iv Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 In all seriousness, the Hawthorne (sp?) kid looked like he was playing volleyball tonight with all of the VERY IMPRESSIVE "spike" blocks he had. The kid has goofy, crazy hops for as big as he is. How many did he have... 6 or 7?? And they were all thunderous, booming blocks!! Mitch Bolin had his fair share too for Dixie when he was in. He is hard to shoot over when he is in there.
Flotsam Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 This is a very nice win. Dixie has a punchers chance of taking out any team in the Region.
nkuclubbaseball19 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hawthorne from Cooper definitely played great defense this evening! I think he had 4 blocks on one possession! And as ennam stated, many of them were thunderous blocks! Awesome job by him. Good win for Dixie. They could've got down and folded when Cooper held them scoreless for the first few minutes of the second half and took a lead but they kept battling to come away with a W. I want to give a shootout to all the Dixie seniors who were honored tonight. Thank you to the cheerleaders, basketball support staff and the players for some great years! I don't know the names of the senior cheerleaders or support staff but the senior basketball players are Matt Wehrle, Adam Daria, Zane Wagner, and Brandon Hatton. Thank you for all the hard work you have put in to represent Dixie Heights in the great manner that you have!
Big Fundamental Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Who played well in this one? Both sides...
Stretch1out Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hawthorne was a beast blocking shots for Cooper with Hedgers grabbing rebounds and Schreck scoring inside. Rabe and Hatton nice outside looks and Bollin blocking shots inside with the minutes he had. Niehaus played quality minutes should see more down stretch. Cooper was very physical with Hawthorne fouled out and another player not sure name at moment but not much inside game. McNeil's boys good players but they need to shoot more for them to go any farther, looks to me that Cooper are not playing team ball but rather it is my turn to shoot without looking at the bigger picture. Only 2nd time to watch them but a different team than I saw earlier in the year.Still a team to right the ship and with that defense could surprise a some team come tourney time.
