Dixie Heights 53 Cooper 44

Featured Replies

Have been saying all year that Dixie was clearly the 4th best team in the region. Good win for Coach Chevy and his team.

I said I think Cooper/Boone/Dixie are essentially the same teams as far as who wins when they play each other. Dixie showed tonight that they can win even when BH doesn't have a strong night.

Rabe had a strong 4th qtr. Scored 5 straight to take it from a 3 point game to an 8 point game.

It's Hathorn.

Broke a backboard during the off season with a thunderous dunk.

Can we get a box score, please? This game featured several aau teammates, as Liechty of Cooper plays with Schreck, Hedger, and Bolin of the Kentucky Bulldogs. They will have a formidable 17u squad this summer. I believe they had a final four finish at state last year, and are one of the the better programs around the state.

Hedger had 9 rebounds

I had never seen Cooper play before last night but they really impressed me with how hard they play. As mentioned, that Hathorn kid was an animal on the inside, doesn't look really tall by any means but boy can he jump. Hatton seemed to be off the majority of the night but some credit has to be given to Cooper because they constantly had a hand in his face and help anytime he drove. Hatton started to be a faciliator more in the second half and others such as Schreck (sp?) and Rabe stepped up. Glad I got to see Dixie get this win and Hatton for the last time playing a home game.

On a side note, I was really disappointed with the turnout as far as the crowd goes. I thought it'd me a much bigger night with it being senior night and the last chance to see Hatton. The student section consisted of like 40 students, many of them being baseball players who just finished tryouts earlier. There wasn't students standing up and cheering or any of that type of thing. Not sure if this is the norm at Dixie games now, but it was sad to see in my opinion.

By normal standards it was actually a good crowd for a Dixie game. Clyde and I even talked about it. I guess that's more an indictment on the attendance at all the other home games though.

Ouch, that is sad to see. As far as the crowd goes, I was more referencing the lack of students that were there. From my experiences, Dixie always had a large student section that was standing and cheering the entire game. Especially with everything Hatton has done for dixie (first regional title since 57, all time leading scorer in 9th region history, etc) I really thought that it would be a great atmosphere, especially with the students.
