Congrats Boone. Great game and fun atmosphere. Best crowd I've seen at a game in a long time.

Ganns was solid and Dunn pitched good also just ran into some fielding mistakes behind him that cost him some runs.

Sad to see the seniors careers end.

Good luck the rest of the way Boone.

A nice crowd tonight to see a great game. Trey Ganns was humming again tonight. Just like their last meeting,Dunn kept the Rebels in check until the fourth inning. Boone had several hits, one of them being a shot to left center by Purnell which scored two runs and Stanley followed w/ a hit to score Purnell. That turned out to be all the Rebels needed. Ganns finished strong and led his team to the win. Congrats to Cooper on a great season.

Congrats to the Rebels on a great game! Very nice outing by Mr. Ganns.

This is one tough district.

Great night for baseball and a fun crowd. Heck of a pitching performance by both Dunn and Ganns. Both kids are class acts. Congrats to the Rebel players and to coach Huff and his staff.

Great crowd for sure. I saw a college scout and a pro scout with their radar guns.... you know the draft isn't far away. Dunn and Ganns both delivered. I don't think the home plate ump was ready for what was coming his way, it took him awhile to establish his zone for both pitchers. It didn't rattle either starter, they just became more committed with each pitch. It took a team effort to win this one, congratulations to the Rebs, but you knew the Jags had a chance for a comeback. A lot of respect between players and fans. Great game.

Great game. Plate umpire only seemed to have issue with low, outside call to RH batters. Not an advantage to either team. Heard Ganns hit 88 several times on the gun - consistently 85-86. Dunn threw just as hard but did not hear his numbers. Cooper scored on a walk, steal of 2B, went to 3rd on throwing error and scored on a wild pitch/passed ball (not sure how it was scored). Boone's first run came on hit batter, who got to 3b and scored on a wild pitch/passed ball (again, not sure how it was scored). Close play at the plate, looked like tag did not get down in front of the plate. Both teams made some plays in the field. Cooper threw out Ganns at 3B on a nice relay throw from the outfield, and had a Boone runner nailed at the plate, but the throw took a bad hop in front of the catcher. Purnell made a diving catch at SS and Teegarden picked a rocket at 2B and threw out the runner. Cooper LF made a great turn around catch on a deep fly ball by Ganns. Boone got the big hit from Purnell, a 3B to left center. Both lead off hitters were tough and fouled off a lot of pitches (Crail for Cooper and Teegarden for Boone).

It's just a shame this district is so tough, year in and year out.

Hey, this allows the winning team a championship that they can really hang their hat on. It's much more impressive than really any other local district championship (unless of course one of the "underdogs" were to win).

:popcorn:Coach Huff has missed the regional tournament two times in seven years he has been at Boone. His first year against Ryle and two years ago against Conner. Great hire on Boones part to hire a small school coach from Silver Grove! Great job Huff and to all your assistant coach's!

Couldn't agree more. I recall all the haters on here. My brother-in-law bets the horses the same way. The horse don't care who he's running against, if he wants to win, he'll win.

I agree he and his assistants have done a great job. But, it doesn't hurt to have a Teegarden or Ganns for most of those years to take the bump.

While those guys have been great, the supporting cast of defense and hitting also plays a huge part, not to mention team chemistry. There have been a lot of unsung heroes on those Boone teams that have helped carry the torch.

Soon to add Parnell to the list:-)
