Boone County 4 Cooper 1

Featured Replies

One thing also to keep in mind is the district they play in. I don't know of a tougher district anywhere in the area that has 4 teams capable of winning it this year.

Looking at scores from other district tourneys in the area Cooper has beaten all the other district tourney winners in the other districts they played this year thus far from those that posted their scores.

They beat Bellevue, Scott, St Henry, Dixie, Cov Cath, Boone Co, Highlands etc. So all though we would have loved to gone on to regionals I don't think anyone in the area would look at Cooper losing to #1 seed Boone as an upset with Ganns on the mound.

Cooper being in the toughest district by far should take nothing away from what they did this year, still the best year they have ever had. They lost some key seniors last year, several who went on to play in College. I'm very happy for what they did this year.

It's not even close. 33rd has 4 teams that can win and win games in the region.

35th has 2.

36th has , realistically, 1 but the young pitcher for Bellevue can be tough.

34th has 1.

You are correct on that one Papa. Have played them every year up to this one. Would have been good to play them.

Cooper didn't play Bellevue.

Lest we forget, everybody was ragging the 34th last year as well. Then they put 2 teams in the regional semis and one in the championship!

I will give you that the 33rd is deeper year in and year out. Again, that goes back to the member school sizes. Of course, that doesn't always mean the best teams will come from the 33rd. There will just be less easy wins.

However, I think the other 3 districts are relatively equal. The 35th is up this year with 2 of the best teams in the area. The 34th has arguably the top team in the area. With NCC being down this year, the 36th is down a bit.
