I recall a year or two ago, a thread about CCH cheering section student standing on padded team chair at Cooper High school to lead a chant. They are a large, loud and fun group to watch. There's no problem with the kids having a good time and supporting the team,but you have to know how to tone it down and respect the property that is not yours. I hope the games can stay at BOK.

Some parents are like that, and some are not. It's nurturing to the parent to be able to provide little Johnny with what he needs. Yes, I too drank from the water cooler/bottle along with everyone else. Some parents are germaphobes and think providing individual drinks prevents spreading germs. It's a different world now.

If he's able to keep up with the speed of the game at a Varsity level, he will be a threat defensively and offensively because of size alone. I have noticed that his footwork is not too bad for kid with that size.

I will always stand by my morals whether anyone likes them or not. I paid a fee to speak freely and will continue to do so. Like i said if anyone wants to debate this anymore, do it privately. Yes it was a penalty that kept the drive alive. Did you see the hit on the kid that caused the unnecessary outburst? It was an obvious late hit. I knew the game was going to be physical from watching some film on them.

We will all agree to disagree. I would feel the same for any player in that situation according to the play. Yes you pull them out talk to them, cool them and see if they have the mindset to continue under control. Apparently he wasn't totally banished for his penalty because the kid continued to play special teams. So what kind of lfe-lesson is that? I'm just trying to understand the logic. You can play, but you can't play where you can help us the most. If I'm going to discipline a player for something I think you did wrong, I'm going to fully do it. I'm sure many coaches have had to deal with this situation and did it many different ways. To each his own. Let's talk about the game now!

I think the word you're looking for is "SOFT". Loosing your cool on a play in football does not mean you don't have discipline. There's not one undisciplined kid on that team because Randy doesn't allow it. Are there 15,16,17 year old kids with tempers that may get too heated….sure.

The play in question is when a teammate was leveled AFTER the whistle. I guess he thought he was speaking out for his teammate, because he wasn't even the one who took the hit. Either way, he was flagged and disciplined. I just think it was extreme. JMO

Yep, you're right. I know nothing about football and have no idea what i'm talking about. As for the player, the correct decision was made by RB. The player made a very bad decision in screaming "throw the &%% flag" in the heat of the moment of a very questionable physical play. He should be disciplined and punished to the max so that he never speaks that way again, because I'm sure his parents have never disciplined him, and society will be much better when coaches put those kids on the bench for overreacting in a football game. :roll eyes: That play was no larger than any dropped pass, missed tackle, fumble or interception that occurred by the Jags tonight. Pulaski was the best team that the Jags faced during the playoff run and, they got the much deserved win tonight.

Pulaski was physical with a very good offensive line which gave the qb time to run or find open receivers. Cooper fought well with them until Pulaski figured out the weak spots in the defense. The jag offense moved the ball pretty well, just couldn't punch it in the end zone.

Thanks Glory Days. There's no sting in the loss. I'm extremely proud of the jaguar team for their fight and effort this year. Minor life lesson learned for the player. He'll move on and be a model citizen now.

I can see benching a kid for a series or two, as long as it's not a habit he has. Some coaches would have handled it the same and some different. And I don't think the program would be any less respectable. I just think it was extreme in a game of this magnitude. Yes it was the wrong thing to say and the punishment was delivered. That was just my opinion on the severity. Game over move on.

That is a bit extreme. C'mon. Randy knows his kids and that's not teaching anyone a life lesson for having some fight in you and speaking. High school kids will loose their cool occasionally in the heat of the moment. So yes lets just put in timeout and make them think about it. This is a coaching decision and if that's how randy controls his team then that's his prerogative. This kid has parents and knows life lessons and he needs a football coach not control freak.

Proud of the players for giving their all. Too many unescessary adjustments on defense left the middle wide open for runs and passes. Gotta go with what got you there. And benching a kid for the entire second half in a semi final playoff game for telling the ref to throw a damn flag is simply stupid and too controlling. The boys were getting smacked around and not getting any calls, and the kid got frustrated. But that's Randy's team and that's how he runs it win or lose I guess.

You are kidding right??? The kid kicked the ball several times in that one instance. I was so surprised it took the ref that many kicks to throw the flag. Maybe the kid didn't know it would be a penalty, but it was definitely a bush league move. Refs were questionable all night, from the face mask on the cooper QB to the completed pass where the ball hit the dirt ( with a cloud of dust flying up) and then calling a completed catch. Horrible!!!! Cooper played through it and won the game.

A big key in progressing in 6A is having kids that play one side of the ball and developing depth. Cooper still struggles with that.

I agree with you, and will elaborate more after season. Someone needs to wake up and smell the coffee! This was not the Cooper team anyone expected.

Cooper will not allow freemen to dress Varsity. Well that what was said at the beginning of the season anyway. Only one has dressed and played this year, so I don't expect to see any other freshman out there Friday night. Cooper was bitten by this game last year with the injuries that happened in a meaningless game, so it will be interesting to see who plays and how long for both teams.

There's plenty of names that could fall on this list. These are just freshman boys, some will continue to grow and improve and some may have hit their max already. You could have a top freshman running back with no oline, a top receiver with no qb, a top qb with no receivers. Top lineman with no backfield. Just about any athletic kid can look good on a freshman squad. I look at the freshman class as who are some of the top athletes with advanced skill and technique that will make an impact in the next 3 years.

I also saw coaches yelling Cover 4 to the defense, but the safeties stayed up. Left the middle of the field open and the corner let the receiver go inside and right bye and a perfectly thrown ball on the move equaled 6 for the dragons. Either way, their were a lot of mistakes and bad plays by the Jags last night. Not their night and SO was on.

The boys played hard and didn't give up. The key is to not give up on the players. Build confidence in the athletic players that can make plays to help the jags win. The bus is fine. I think.
