Without mistakes and protecting the ball, Ryle can put up points. TM is an accurate QB and can pick his receivers to move the ball down the field effectively. The run game can be effective as well. Low Score or High Score, this game can be close. That's just how I see it. There's talented kids on both sides of the field. Now how do you see it?

My reply wasn't to you, it just fell under your post without a quote. I think this game is going to be closer than some think. If Ryle plays mistake free football, and can contain Powell (not stop him), they have a very good chance for the win.

I am very chill. What I mean about move on is stop hijacking threads to discuss the Jaguars. This is about Ryle and SK. Start a thread on Nky QB comparison and we can go in depth there if you like. Tony Romo has had the best stats in the NFL for a couple of years, but that doesn't make him the best. I'm just saying. This is exactly why I usually choose to not discuss things about individual players and their stats. I like to keep it to X and Os Wins and losses.

Good thing you're not a QB scout. We are discussing Ryle and SK here. So let's talk about their players and accuracy rates and types of routes and all that good stuff. I like the way you give our kids credit and then dis-credit the QB that runs the offense and makes things happen with his ability to be mobile!

I'm not sure what game or what film you watched, but Brown and the entire Jaguar team outplayed Ryle that night. Statistically, and physically Brown (a first year QB) looked slightly better in this game, especially in the the second half. Not taking anything away from Morgan because he is a very good QB, but don't take away from Brown's performance with excuses about injuries and dropped passes. If you watch the film, you will see that the Jaguars had several dropped passes as well. It happens....make the next play! I believe #8 for Cooper is leading the state in receiving, you're simply not going to stop him ALL night.

Not ALL coaches watch jv or freshman film. Freshman usually aren't filmed by staff and jv may not always be filmed. Often times, the head Coach will only attend the home games. It is what it is.....learning time.

After taking the L to Cooper, I look for Ryle to be on the move to prove something when they play Conner and SK. That SK game is going to be a showdown, just as the Ryle/ Cooper game. I don't know whose fence you sit on, but be realistic.

You don't have to visually see Trinity, St X and Male to know that they are still very dominant 6A teams. The teams up here "may" (and I say that weakly) be able to hang with them, but until it is proven, we are still behind those three programs. And yes that does include SK.

I agree, but I don't know about Ryle having better athletes. Quaterback, Running Back, Receivers, OLine, DLine????Where were the better athletes? Oh yea...Kicker and Punter..??

That kickoff return lit up the team, the crowd and made a statement that this team was not going to be denied. I think I once heard someone say "Big time players....make big time plays". These boys know how to get it done!

All I can say is THANK YOU Jaguar boys for shutting up the doubters. Especially the ones that counted you out with their over hyped egos, and lack of respect for your talent. I enjoyed watching my former players compete and make plays agains one another and this game had it's share of 'wow' plays. It goes to show you can talk all you want, and regardless of record, you still have to strap it up and get it done.

I don't know where you've played or coached, but it has always been a respect thing for the most. I could care less if it is a team motto to not kneel, but to kneel for one injured player and not another because he from the opposing team is disrespectful in my opinion. I will continue to teach my kids class, respect the game and respect the opponent.

But why take it for your injured player and not the opponent. Takes the "CL" out of class.

Another bit of football knowledge. In high school football, when a ball carriers knee touches the ground the play is dead at that moment. A sack occurs when a defensive player tackles the qb behind the line of scrimmage ending the play. No one touches the qb on a game ending kneel therefore it is NOT called a sack! Someone missed Football 101 class. In gridiron football, a turnover occurs when the team with the ball loses possession of the ball without kicking it, which is then gained by the other team. In American football, the two events that are officially classified as "turnovers" are fumbles (accidental physical loss of a live ball a player has possession of) or interceptions (passes intended for a member of the passing team, but caught by a member of the opposing team). In addition, the term "turnover" is often used to refer to a turnover on downs, when a team attempts to gain a first down or touchdown on a fourth down play (known as a fourth down conversion), but is unsuccessful. So if any non starter gets time on Friday night, does that make him a JV player only, even if he is playing Varsity minutes. I always thought JV was on Saturday. On Friday night we call them 1's and 2's or 3's. Minutes on Friday night don't go in the JV book, but in the Varsity book, so let's just call them Varsity players that saw playing time....how bout that?

I see ignorance has found its way to South Union. Can you wanna be players or little kids (which ever one suits you) please get over your over hyped egos and let these boys (the actual players) decide the game outcome on Friday night. It's OK to make predictions, but when you start degrading a program or kids in a program, you fall to to the bottom of the barrel in respect from me. As there are kids on both teams that I have coached in the past, I just hope for competitive/healthy game with the better team on THIS Friday night being the victor.

Dixie had a strong run game agains a poor tackling Cooper team. The QB carries out his fakes really well and gained good yardage on multiple QB runs. Cooper didn't do very much to impress me. JL threw 2 td passes to Brown, should have been 3 to put them within 10 but the ball skipped off the hands of Brown. There were a few good runs by the Jags, but nothing in comparison to DH. I do know Coopers JV squad had full practice with the varsity prior to playing this game. A bit too much to ask for in one day and expect 110%
