Rook429 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 I hear through the grapevine, certain player/players looking to jump to Cooper, next year? Lots of chatter on this, especially after some kids have moved on to Beechwood and Cooper in football and other sports...

Why is this worthy of a thread?
Rook429 Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Pretty simple solution. Sell the house and move. Why is this worthy of a thread? Just hate to hear this, after they started doing so well. Their record isn't bad but junk about playing time and positions. Terrible

Hellbird Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I hope it's not true but it goes on everywhere. Doesn't surprise me especially from freshman because they are used to playing on their pee wee teams And once they get to HS where several ayers from different pee wee teams are merged together some players get bumped from their positions they used to play and don't start now and their parents and the kids think they deserve to play and of course the coaches don't know better and there you have it. Whining and complaining etc. Goes on everywhere.
norse1 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 My son was moved to safety once. He loved it. I finally said something to the coach about it though. I love my son and try to not be that parent but the kid inherited my speed and isnt nearly fast enough to play safety. He has been happy back on the line since.

Ham Bone Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Hate to hear this anywhere. Glad it's happening everywhere. Unfortunately, the kids struggle while parents live out their dreams.
nostupidexcuses Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Please exit now!! People/Parents who threaten this will be more problems than they already are, take your child and go, PLEASE!! Voice of Reason Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Pretty simple solution. Sell the house and move. Why is this worthy of a thread? Just to be factual, if the freshmen haven't played a varsity sport, they are free to go wherever they want - except in Boone County they might not be allowed to go to another Boone Co. school. As to the opening post in the thread, any parent or kid considering this for some football reason is not paying attention. I think Conner and its coaches are deserving of mention as coach of the year. They have a very young, inexperienced team that just keeps getting better every week. I think the Conner coaches are doing a great job this year. There may not be another team in N. Ky. that has improved as much over the season as Conner.

Correct. Can't go to Cooper living in Conner's district.

I think the Conner coaches are doing a great job this year. There may not be another team in N. Ky. that has improved as much over the season as Conner. Conner is very young and they are getting better each week. But coach of the year? Sorry, can't agree there. I'd say Cooper and Coach Borchers deserve that one more. Cooper lost their entire team basically and only have 3 returning starters, 2 on offense and 1 on defense and they have already won more games than all of last season and will at worst get the 2 seed with still a chance at the district title if Scott beats So. Oldham. You are right, Conner is imprvoing each week, but still not coach of the year improvements.
