Your high school play does not always garner you a DI look. Zeke played for Dixie Heights, put him on a team like Trinity and he looks a lot better than what was shown his senior year. I'm speaking athletically only! The kid went on national TV, competed and proved that he is athletically a DI "type" of QB. People sit in their living rooms and judge his abilities, which is a joke. High school football is great, but you don't need to have a standout year to be seen by DI schools. I wonder if the same would be said if he played for HHS. IMO, athletically top 26 when he left Dixie, mentally bottom 26. But he still has time to turn himself around.

As we are talking about young athletes, it's always about development. That's why I ask the question to get the numbers of those wearing state championship rings compared to those getting that free tuition and the difference from public and private.

My question was in reference to state title winning teams actually. Does an athlete have an advantage when playing for a school such as Trinity/Highlands/NCC or St. X over the Ryle, Cooper Conner type teams?

Independent schools allow you to attend a school that is out of the restricted boundaries that some high schools have to abide by and independent schools have tuition fees...I think ...Please correct me if I'm wrong. If i'm correct, that's very similar to private schools. I live in the Boone County school district and I was approached about my son possibly attending BW, and was told I would not have to move.

Does anyone know the percentage of D1-A scholarship players that came from private/independent high schools as opposed to public schools? Out of 120 teams they are allowed 85 roster scholars per year i believe.

With Cooper starting their feeder program, i'll give them the edge over Boone and Conner. The BCPWFL still needs to figure out how things should be ran in order to make the county successful in a whole. Ryle seems to have a strong feeder program as well.

How has Cooper benefitted any more than Ryle, Boone, or Conner?

Dixie is pretty classless like that! The Cooper girls and the fans that stayed back to support them, missed a great football game in BG thanks to the Dixie administration.

#1 was pretty much all I was really impressed with from BG. Good football team fundamentally minus the encroachment penalties.

After the elite 100 selection, I wouldn't put too much value in the final game.

Gotcha now. I would think Conner would want to play a full strength Cooper first to get a better measurement of where they stand against them later on down the road.

I never really understood this whole early seeding crap. Teams are still young and healthy or unhealthy from pre season injuries and then football legs from those coming over from football. Whoever gets the top seed early could be the first team out in the end of the season, so the value of this game is what other than early season rankings??? Help me out here with some facts about the seeding process.

Good call! Like it or not. This allows the basketball players at Cooper and Conner players and students to attend possibly a once in a lifetime event for some of their classmates and friends from the Copper football team. (yes Cooper students and Connor students still have friendships with each other!).. I think PurplPride92 might be a little worried about Cooper showing up in BG with two schools of fan support to offset that home field advantage BG has. lol

Gorilla, you need to get out a little more and communicate with people that have actually sent kids on to the next DI level. Friday nights are for creating film to gain an interest from college recruiters. Many DI recruiters want to see the athlete in person and watch them perform at their camps and meet their standards which are usually higher than most Friday night competitions .
