  1. Both teams will pound the ball this year. I'm not positive in the final score but was somewhere around 28-7 Cooper or something like that. Don't quote me on the score. Takeaways. Cooper will be ok running the ball but need their receivers to hang on to the ball. Too many drops to count. Boone's rb is big and will punish some guys but their O-Line needs to step up. They gave up somewhere around 8 sacks tonight. Coopers Lines are once again undersized but held their own most of the time. Their D-line needs to improve on short yardage situations but hopefully that comes with time. Only time will tell, could be interesting for Cooper with so many young players. This would be what they call a rebuilding year.
  2. I don't think it'll be that easy but as a alum, feel free to go ahead and crown them champs
  3. I'll be in my fav spot for the scrimmage tonight ... doing chains
  4. Don't know what the coaches or others are expecting out of the scrimmages this year, but for me and the Cooper Jags, I am most interested in 2 positions and how they perform. QB and RB. For the 5th straight year it will be a new QB starting for the Jags and I have no idea who it is and how he will do. They also lost their stud RB Cordell-Armstrong to graduation and wanted to see if they had a decent replacement. This is what I will be watching mostly come Thur night at Cooper.
  5. Coopers Justin Schlarman could have a huge season. This kid has had all the talent in the world and has shown over the past 2 seasons the ability to make a big play when needed. The one question of him is if he can play without taking a play off here and there. I think if he plays at 110% every play he is on the field he can be one of the best players in NKY his senior year.
  6. More so than Cameron indoor, that's for sure. But I agree with you. I don't think any college court should be in the list except for the Gardens which hosted both NBA and College. Now with all that said I think the Boston Gardens should have made the list although my pick would be Rucker Park.
  7. With Cooper beating Conner, does that move them on the bubble?
  8. Yes. Many Conner fans upset at how the game ended but I was sitting right behind the plate and the catcher didn't move his foot at all, the problem was he had his foot right in front of the plate instead of on the plate so when the throw came home he never touched the plate as he thought he was standing on it..he wasn't. The ump made the right call but I feel bad for the catcher for how Conner lost.
  9. So very sad. I just saw Callen down at the sweet 16 rooting on Cooper as I know Sean McNeil and Braden grew up together playing against and with eachother for years in AAU ball. Callen was a great BBALL fan and I believe even did some officiating with S McNeils dad in the past.
  10. No KY Fields can compete with the majority of Indiana baseball fields. When my son was playing summer ball all through High School, those weekend tournaments in Indiana were always the best fields they played on.
  11. I would agree. Cooper loses a lot and once again has to find a QB. The best thing Cooper has going for them is their coach. He's performed minor miracles in the past, lets see if he can do it again.
  12. Love the name also lol, and off the subject, there is a Medal of Honor winner from Boone County named Fleek. He threw himself on a grenade in a foxhole in the Vietnam War to save his fellow soldiers. I work with his niece and who knows, this young man may be related to the hero himself. Something to be proud of. Ok, back to Basketball.
  13. Wow. Thanks for the update. That's embarrasing and Bolus sounds like someone out for one thing, himself. Pretty good racket he has going apparently.
  14. How many schools make up the 15th region? Why even have districts if everyone makes the regional tournament anyway? Makes the regular season meaningless. Sounds like the same problem I have with Football where many districts send every team to the playoffs. KHSAA really does a disservice to districts in Football and now it looks like the same will be done in basketball as well if others follow suit and do what the 15th did.
  15. He has a lot to say I would bet about the schedule.
  16. Agreed. Starting earlier would be a nightmare for many schools who have players that play Football also.
  17. Hawkins secured his UK offer as I remember Cal was there to watch him first hand as well as watch Bolden.
  18. Wasn't a fan of the refs yesterday
  19. Don't know what the reasons are going to be behind his decision wherever he ends up going. But basketball scholarship money is A LOT better than baseball scholarship money. Could play a big part in it.
  20. Awesome!!!! Congrats The Jake
  21. Sorry to hear that. Like I said earlier, this was my first trip to the sweet 16 and thought it was ran great. No one ever asked to see tickets, the only time an usher asked us anything was yesterday when one asked if we needed help finding our seats, the rest of the days they simply said hi as we walked by into what ever section we were entering.
  22. I also heard yesterday from someone that the prep school route was going to be his next path.
  23. I think he had a great chance at it, but I think the MVP was awarded correctly.
