  1. And another int off receivers hands
  2. That isn't bounced right off receivers chest
  3. Like I said in prediction thread. Cooper needs receivers that can catch the ball
  4. Yep, HHS released the Krakken
  5. Here's my halftime analysis. Neither team is moving the ball mich and the passing attack is non existent for both teams. Both teams first TD's came because both D-Lines were exhausted. Highlands DLine was falling fast and finally got a breather after Coopers first TD. Then HHS started wearing down the DLine for Cooper as they drove the field. The 2nd TD came off of a broken coverage. Both teams havent shown much. I think the 2nd half will be different. I think unfortunately Cooper just doesn't have enough horses the 2nd half.
  6. It's on Ch-64 Game time is 7:30
  7. Very interesting take and I like it. It used to be programs like Cooper would be put down by many in here for playing some both ways and the criticism would come from some Highlands fans. I'm glad that some are realizing that even if you have the numbers it's sometimes, most of the times, best to play your better players if you want a chance to get a W.
  8. Great choice by Adam! There were more than a handful of D1 schools offering him and he could of went to a bigger program possibly but would he have been lost in the shuffle at some them? Maybe. I think this is a perfect fit for Kunk and he will get plenty of opportunities to showcase himself.
  9. I hate to say this, but I agree that Cooper may drop fast. Unless they fooled me and can handle Highlands they could stay up there. I hope I'm wrong. Although I'm a huge Cooper supporter I'm also realistic.
  10. I think Trinity may surprise some people and win it all this year
  11. Hmmmm, I thought OldGappler stated somewhere else that Boone Co was #1 out of the 4 BC High Schools. It looks like they fall behind both Cooper and Conner. I guess it all depends on what article you read. I thought Cooper was ranked ahead as were the only BC school to win national award last year.
  12. I've seen teams with a ton of talent lose a lot. I've seen teams with a avg talent win a lot. The deciding factor has always been coaching. If you have a good-great coach, teams can overcome a lot. I've seen it at all levels.
  13. Don't know. Boone didn't put the ball in the air much in the scrimmage.
  14. I hate this but I think HHS gets this one. Cooper will probably be undersized on both lines and it should take a couple weeks for Borchers to coach these young players up. Coopers running game may be ok, I just need to see some receivers step up before they start putting some W's up. Hope I'm wrong but Cooper is so young.
  15. I know it's only a scrimmage but ouch. I thought with Chisholm, Ryle would at least get on the board
  16. I agree with you there but it's too late now. Once he's in HS it's too late I would think.
  17. It's not like they are changing the way the game is played. Its not much different years back when it was a penalty to block in the back. The whole purpose of the rule is to cut back on injuries. If you are going to make a block then it simply needs to be made in the front part of the body as to have no blind side hits. Btw to oldgrappler, last night it was a classic peel back block which as I understand was gone over the night before with both teams and was why it wasn't argued when the flag was thrown.
  18. It was against the rules and being "dirty" will always be subjective to each person who sees it. Imo it was dirty. We will just agree to disagree.
  19. So he can play as a Jr if he stayed at Cov Cath but he shouldn't if he plays for Cooper? That makes zero sense at all
  20. The penalty was called last night at Coopers scrimmage and glad it was. I'm with you, it is a dirty play and more damage can come of that tyor if play than any good. There is no reason to have that type of hit in the game especially today when concussion prevention is so big.
  21. Sounds like no wrong doing at all unlike a few on here who tried to make it sound like there was.
  22. I agree, I wouldn't do chains in HS until my boy was done playing. It's much less stressful when you have no family playing. Boy graduated in 13' and I started doing chains for them in 14'
  23. He actually threw the ball pretty well and can run pretty well. He was a wr last year so has good wheels. What he needs to work on is his footwork a little more, but we all know Coach Borchers tends to turn out some pretty good QB's. The last 6 qb's he's had have done pretty darn good so let's see if the QB whisperer has another one up his sleeve this year with Michael Armour. I will also add, the backup QB looked pretty good also. He throws a real nice ball so could be interesting for next year if he gets some reps this year. I was really impressed with his size and arm strength. They just need some receivers with some hands.
