  1. KHSAA now says you cannot repeat 7th or 8th grade and play the second year, meaning you cannot play middle school either. How they are going to enforce this, I have no clue.
  2. If the Hyatt/Hilton let you check out after the game, I'm all for it.
  3. Nope, that might be what Julian says though........ Girls and boys were the same and comparable sports, so Title IX has 0 say in it.
  4. Pretty much, you can thank football for that one.........
  5. KHSAA changes it A LOT. There is collusion between coaches, to keep bad officials out. If someone tells you any different, they are lying.
  6. If your an AD you need most of the day off. Not like it used to be, as you deal with a lot more - Title IX etc. Not a fan of football coaches being AD, AT ALL. Most schools in 15th region outside the really small ones, AD teaches only about half the day, some none at all.
  7. Basketball will gladly take a 10% reduction in games, if football did the same. 14 game max season, no bye week. This year first game would have been Aug. 18th and last game Nov. 17. Basketball practice begins Nov. 1. Mandatory that football coaches allow freshman and sophomores go to basketball practice Nov. 1 but still dress in playoff games on Friday if they are not on 2 deep roster. Mandatory basketball coaches let freshman and sophomores go to baseball practice at end of regular season. Basketball gets 4 weeks in summer - 2 in May and 2 in June. Football gets 1.5 in June.(You get spring practice). Makes all sports better. Too much common sense for them to go by though.
  8. With Pike Central's schedule, I don't think he stays.....
  9. Will not fly, unless I have a bad read on it. Good teams need close to 30, play your district, upper level region teams, then play in 1-2 of the premier tourney's in the state and you are at 30.
  10. Our limit of games, as everyone knows, is 30 games. West Virginia is 22. What are the other surrounding states? Any other state at 30? More?
  11. There is a movement, especially in the east, of team threatening to drop out if something is not done to get AAA and most AA football schools out. For example the 15th Region had EVERY school other than Pike Central, Belfry, and Johnson Central in the All "A"....joke. Even with the ones dropped out of the 15th, unless Sheldon Clark is playing up in football they are "AAA" and P-burg is "AA".... This is a step, but still not enough.
  12. Make Admins. pay for a stat guy and we will.
  13. Good, I wasn't meaning it in a way to put you down at all, just saying you will be stepping on A LOT of toes.
  14. I hope your going to talk to all involved at ER. I also don't think you really are going to get very deep. I don't know if you understand how political it all is.
  15. We teach it and have a kid that is as good as anyone doing it and gets called a walk 80% of the time.
  16. Panasonic Plasma is the best by far. Samsung is better in the LCD department.
  17. I said this last year and glad someone is backing me up. It's one thing to go and play good competition and know you have to play well to win....but that place is terrible.....
  18. What do the people in power in Perry and Knott County have on the people in the KHSAA? Cordia basically has an entire team of transfers. Hazard and Perry have kids transfer back and forth between each other and they are 5 miles apart, not to mention the sheer number transfers PCC gets over all.
  19. Coaches have taught to hand check grab hip-check etc. and they call it defense. If you get beat ride them down the sideline. Foul, foul, foul, we are deeper than they are and the refs will get tired of calling them. That is not basketball.
  20. Nope. Just as physical, if not more physical in the 15th as it was last year. Rough post play doesn't bother me. The physical play out front is TERRIBLE.
  21. "Basketball does it" argument is getting really old really fast. Kids do not get physically beat up during basketball districts. The daddy's need to get off the"my kid made the playoffs" or "my kid played 11 football games instead of 10" argument. Playing 10 football game makes you no less a man than playing 11. Every kid doesn't deserve a trophy either.
  22. Go to a ratings sytem that lets the top 16 in no matter location. Like WV. and Ohio. Out of 96 games we had 16 upsets? How many of those were #4 over #1?
  23. You 2 cats that think you know about how I raise my son about no win situations or anything about the situation Phelps is in, PM me....... Your probably the dads that tell their son to be tough if they get 3 concussions....
