Worst tournament you could possibly put your team in! Very poorly run, the games are more like summer scrimmages, brackets change right up until its time for you to play based on how you have performed against other teams.

 

I have never seen officials blatantly affect the outcome of basketball games before UNTIL this week. I watched a Tenn. team get totally screwed over against the home team. I saw a very conservative guess of 25+ walks called in one game and an official say and I quote " If you touch the ball and your feet move before it hits the floor its a walk."

 

Thank God we don't play in that region. I know there will be some get on here and defend the referees but that's your right, they were flat out pathetic! they engaged fans after the game and told them we'll see you tomorrow with a smirk on their face.

One parent pointed out that we all are held accountable at our jobs why can't some of these clowns be held accountable for their actions towards kids.

 

I am not blaming the officials on the loss that my team suffered, as I feel we were probably going to get beat by 20, but I do feel they added about 15-20 points to the margin of victory. the free throw difference was 35-10 and they were shooting the Double Bonus with 3:32 remaining in the 1st quarter.

 

Bottom line its a sorry place to play basketball!

This is typical for our coach and AD......I have raved and ranted for years here about change. The changing the rules as you go is a everyday occurrence. I know some people had to think I was crazy to say some of the things I have, but its all true. He has even threatened other posters as well as myself for posting on this board and ran most of the good people off from posting here.

He never said anything to me about any post. I would tell him where to go. I have not been to a game and don't plan to go. People outside of McCreary Co. Have no ideal what we put up with.

I said this last year and glad someone is backing me up. It's one thing to go and play good competition and know you have to play well to win....but that place is terrible.....

I did not make it to the tournament but I do know what you are talking about. Robert Jones should not be coaching basketball or be an athletic director. I would also like to add that whoever hired him in these positions should be without a job as well.

HB and I have said same thing for Years. Only if there was a way for the Kids to win and him get Beat!!!!!

I've been there a few times and saw games in their tournament and didn't notice anything different than tournaments anywhere else.

Officiating I have seen be a bit one sided but unfortunately that seems to happen everywhere when you have officials from the local region

calling games involving teams from another or another state.

I have seen some pretty good teams playing there from places like Washington DC, Miami and Memphis. To me that's pretty interesting to see

how Kentucky teams stack up against teams from out of state metropolitian areas.
