Winning solves many things....

I agree with this. My only concern is them getting to the region. Holy Cross could beat them in the districts. Same with why it is tough to pick Conner. They may not get out of the 33rd. If they do, they will be a tough out. I do not see CCH winning the Region. I could see NCC taking it too. They are battle tested and Couch Schulkens is underrated, if that is possible for a guy who has regional crowns to his credit.

These are the five contenders. I would go with Andy at Boone. He finally got over the hurdle. Now don't overlook Cooper in the districts. Freedom and Joe have also done a great job. I think Joe will trade the coach of the year to Andy if Notre Dame would win the region. On the other hand, Andy would gladly give Joe the Coach of the Year if the Rebels could win the region. I think Freedom has done a great job, but other than Dixie the 34th is typically not strong. Rob has been solid at Highlands and they have taken the next step up. Lee is underrated at Holy Cross. They have had a dramatic turnaround this year from last. Pointed in the right direction, and a group that is confident in themselves.

Without a doubt. Kez is decent and Holmes and Notre Dame don't have coaches. Tim Heil at Cov. Latin does a very good job as well.

Beiger is a good coach that needs to find the right place where his style fits. It might not anymore, as many parents think their kid should get drafted in the first 7 rounds of the MLB draft or at least get a full ride to Mississippi State because they played on the Bluegrass or Colonels summer team.

Boone County does this for religious reasons. Hard to argue with that. Usually religion trumps sports in most places. Not always though.

Lawnboy13-question for you. Do you think Meyers should get the nod pitching now? Just curious, and in no way trying to knock Neace, because let's face it with 1 hit you are not gonna win many games anyway.

Huge size difference between the two, and in baseball 9 players on the field. Ryle should wax Beechwood every time. Schools their own size not as much. Plus isn't this the Ryle team that like never loses to anybody around here from the freshman on up?

I hope you are right, but most teams, year after year say they are young. With girls, they seem to lose a little interest after their Junior years, and seem to get ready for college. Wishing Highlands the best, but you need to be realistic with what you are trying to accomplish. The coaches are doing a great job and will continue the girls progressing.

I saw that and am just busting your chops......think David is a great hire in a tough district.

This is what I meant yesterday forewarning the Birds not to take themselves too seriously yet. Ryle had lost three games to local teams the past week. You can't count them out or the Oliverio's.

I am happy for David, and wish him well, but to give the credit to Clyde is hilarious. If he fails, then can Clyde provide no further recommendations? Who were the other finalists?

Maybe this will make it easier to understand where I am coming from (and others). In football, if Holmes is 5 + 0 coming to play Highlands, do they have a chance to win? (Yes). Is it a great chance? (no). Have they beaten everybody up to then? (Yes) Until you have done it, you haven't done it, and things get tighter in the post season. Your coach is great and you have made great strides, but don't fool yourself.

I think they will be too, but I would add this caution. They have to get to the region first. Also they had better win the 36th, because the other 3 district winners are all gonna be tough, and if they are the runner-up in the 36th, then I think it will be tough for them to win 1 game in the region. (same would hold true for Newport or NCC)

I think you guys need to understand you are debating with a Campbell County/and or Brossart fan, not an Indian supporter.

If Kuebbing pitches, St. Henry can beat anyone. The other Crusader pitchers are decent, but 3 or 4 inning guys. Cooper believes Dunn is their best. Don't know who is pitching in this game, but I will take St. Henry. Could be two teams left out of the region this year.
