But the all-stars' roster, which was announced Monday, also has a couple of names that may not be familiar to a lot of fans: Mike Terry of Fairview and Twin Lancaster of Logan County. Jason Booher of Holmes, who will coach the Kentucky All-Stars, said he didn't know anything about Terry or Lancaster, either, before he saw them excel in tryouts at Georgetown College a couple of weeks ago. The 6-foot-7 Terry caught Booher's eye "as a player with length who can come off screens and shoot the ball with a hand in his face." The 6-4 Lancaster earned notice with his defense. "He really gets up into you and makes your life miserable," Booher said. "That's the reason he made the team." Booher said defense will be the calling card for this group of Kentucky All-Stars. "Indiana is loaded again and it'll take our best effort to beat them. We were looking for guys who are really good defensively. "We've got scorers and we need them, but defense is where we've got to win it." Booher said he was also looking for guys who play hard, and Clark County guard Bopper Stenzel fit that description. The 11th Region has two players on the squad: Manning, who led Scott County to a state runner-up finish, and Jay Johnson of Woodford County, who came on strong in the second half of the season after recovering from knee surgery. McKay's availability for the all-star games is up in the air. The Moore standout has signed to play football at Arkansas, and he may have to report to Fayetteville to start class before the all-stars begin practice in early June. I agree, thats good.

There's a lot of very good coaches in the state that will never be heard of because they will never have the material to win the big games with. Remember Bill Lee from Caneyville that brought that tiny school to the state tournament. He had to do a good job to get there. Heck, I can't coach a lick but I do believe I could have won with Trinity this year.

Good material makes NOTED COACHES. Maybe not good coaches but noted coaches. Put most of those mentioned coaches in a small school and more than likely you would never had heard of them.

The Lexington-Herald picks Willis over Dieudonne . There's no comparison. Dieudonne is by far the best this state has to offer. U K commitments always get the high rating. The Courier Journal always has the better selection of players for their All State Teams.

Who would want that job.

I still don't see the 10th as a strong region next season. No team will have more than 2 good ball players.

I agree. I knew from some quotes made on here before last season where someone wrote that my boy is better than your boy would bring an unhealthy atmosphere on that team. Things like that really hurt a team.

Dieudonne would get my vote but again he plays with better boys that makes him a better player.

Great year for the Clark Co boys. You couldn't ask for more than they gave us this season. Great success story with a group of overachievers. I'm so happy with each and every boy on that team and and I also give Scott credit for doing such a wonderful job . Proud of all of them!!!

I'm going to keep a close eye on Bopper, Charlie, Dominic, Adam and Taylor and whoever they play.

Someone even predicted that Harrison Co would win the region.

Bopper told me before the season started, ----, we're going to be better than people are expecting. I think we can get as much done as last years team. His thinking and desire was there from the beginning and this team has been so much fun to watch. Love em.

In the last 6 years I couldn't wait to buy a U K Yearbook. Probably won't buy one next year due to a loss of interest.

Rankings make great conversations and we all enjoy reading them although we know they don't amount to much.

Cards played great this year to be picked 6-7th in the region. It just goes to prove that no one knows.

I remember in our home game against Montgomery Co that Bopper clapped his hands when a Montgomery error was committed and they called a T on him. I had never seen that before but found out that any jesture of that type is a T. I don't care for that rule. I didn't think what Harris did last evening should have been called at all. Dumb rule IMO.
