  1. I was glad to see Jason Waldenmeyer get some time. I thought he did a pretty good job.
  2. I think our dear friend uk#1fan started this thread.
  3. Colerain, OH 34 DuPont Manual 7 Colerain wins by 27 Highlands 45 DuPont Manual 14 Highlands wins by 31 So I guess Colerain is also pretty mediocre?
  4. This was a very tough team the Birds played tonight and as usual they did what they had to do to win. Abner is a very smart player who was terrific on defense.
  5. I think NCC is better than last year, but this year they've played two teams who didn't win a game last year and a team that only won 5 or 6 games. If NCC focuses this week in practice on keying on Hemple and Elliott from running they potentially have a chance. I know Hemple can throw, but I don't see Ryle beating people with their passing game at this point in the season.
  6. Excellent point! Mueller is a class act! So things didn't go as planned. Birds are so solid. Mueller has a ton of respect for Beechwood. They are a class program. Respect and admiration for a program means more to Mueller than the score. Bottom line is a win!
  7. Highlands runs the table!
  8. Clyde thanks for not saying "smashed mouth football". :thumb:
  9. Well I'd like to see the University of Connecticut womens basketball team lose also. I'm getting over it.
  10. I'll make ya a deal "Theoldguy." I'll try and get CC on the otherside of the field when you come over later this year if you agree to waive the running clock rule.:thumb:
  11. The people who would be responsible for making any changes simply don't think it's a problem. If it is that bad or dangerous simply don't schedule Highlands. If Ryle would have won this game this would be a mute point.
  12. I think you are exactly right! Not only does your QB and WRs' have to be involved, but also the O-line. IMO they need to be working on pass blocking nearly as much as the QBs and WRs' work on throwing and catching. You will see great running teams come up short this year because of an inability to throw. You can't just wing a good passing game.
  13. I hope you're wrong "goldandblack". The timing is there for the long ball. Heck Highlands is averaging 18 yards a pass reception with over a 50% completion rate. I hope the Birds work on some intermediate routes and start forcing DB's to play a little more honest. I agree with you in that it will certainly be enticing for the Birds to try and go overtop all night long this Friday.
  14. It's a Catholic thing! Totally kidding!
  15. Based on a dominant performance by the JV team yesterday against Ryle and a freshman victory over St. X the future of this program is beyond bright. The addition of Coach Behymer to the freshman program has been tremendous!
  16. It's hard to fathom Dixie losing to NC and then beating SK. I didn't recall the back-up QBs' for SK being exactly steller based on a 7 on 7 I saw earlier in the year. The key for SK is to get on top and force Pike to throw. If you don’t he's big enough to lunge forward for 3 yards nearly everytime he runs the ball.
  17. Is Julian Tackett aware of this? I'm also going to address the "Deliverance Music" at Johnson Central. That is scary stuff!
  18. I was surprised by the win, but after looking at some tape of Covington Catholic after the Ryle game I knew the score of that game was not truly indicative of the type of team Covington Catholic had. Ball pursuit was not very good, but that appears to be something they've worked on within the last week. How did the QB from LC play? He is considered a top prospect.
  19. Hasn't there been some recent work done on Highlands field? As far as the kid situation goes it is a little crazy, but don't comingle that issue with Warner's tirade before the game. I'm sure Warner is a very frustrated coach when it comes to playing Highlands and his emotions got the best of him when he saw how big the crowd was going to get. I saw a Ryle player at the JV game wearing a boot. The kid was definitely a stud. I hope he has a speedy recovery. We may differ about who we think is better or not, but I talked to some very classy Ryle players and parents after the game Friday night. Heck there's one more game to played between the two schools. I'm getting there at 4:30 to get a seat.
  20. How many yards did Towles have rushing last night? I thought towards the end of the game Hemple started to be a lot more hesitant when running the ball.
  21. It sounds like Beechwood's pass defense must have not been to bad. They only gave up a 100 yds passing to a QB that supposed to be pretty good.
