Moeller, LaSalle, and Colerain are the class of big school football in Cincy this year...period.

 

Big wins for Highlands and Trinity but I'd be more impressed if one of our fellow KY teams beat one of those three this year.

You may be right on, but mediocracy at Highlands is 90% of KY programs greatest yr ever, so as a Highlands fan it really doesnt bother me one bit for this yrs team to be mediocre. LOL Go Birds 20n10

All it shows is what 99.9% of us already knew... that Ohio football is significantly ahead of Kentucky football (and most other states' football, for that matter).

 

With that being said...

 

In regards to Highlands, "struggles" (the guru's word) against Withrow, I will say I'm a big believer that football is about winning the game by scoring more points than your opponent; it's not about winning by huge margins. I don't think Highlands ever trailed Withrow in this game, and some BGP'ers are posting their observation that the game's outcome was never in question. Also, arguably Highlands' second-best offensive weapon (Compton) was held out of action, since the coaching staff wanted to give him an extra week to heal up. I guess what I am saying is that if HHS and Withrow played 10 times, HHS may win 9 or all 10 of them; now, the games may be close, but I suspect HHS would pull through, and that's what the game of football is all about (winning).

 

I am earger to see how the Trinity-Cincy St. X game goes this week.

I dont agree that they are mediocre though, they are very solid. If you watched last year's squad and this year's you might think that way but I dont like comparing teams from the past.

He made the comparison is another thread. I'm with you. Mediocre is not the 1st word that comes to mind concerning the 2010 Highlands football team. Wonder how he would describe all the teams that fall at the feet of the Birds this year.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to typical/past Highlands teams. Not mediocre within our state if that's what you inferred. Of course I could be wrong. Bottom line, the best Ohio has to offer is better than what Ky has to offer. Nothing wrong with that.
