Dixie 35 Beechwood 21

Featured Replies

Another good game from Bruns.

Pike played better this week.

Vocke (sp?) had some nice runs.

Colosimo struggled throwing the ball. He immediately locks onto his receiver.

Beechwood is small.

Nice win for the Colonels. I figured Dixie would win and it would have a lot of scoring.

Man Beechwoods numbers are way down. They need to correct that in a hurry.

Congrats Dixie on not getting worn down this week.

Beechwood may not have as many on the sidelines as usual but they aren't playing many guys both ways either. Maybe 3? All the guys that are in uniform are good. They have lost quite a few players (7 or 8?) since the spring for a variety of reasons. That thins the ranks quick at a 1A school. Beechwood is playing a lot of juniors. They will get better as the season rolls on. Solid effort tonight. A couple of big plays by Dixie that turned the game in their favor. Play of the game was the reverse pass play at the end of the first half on 3rd down and maybe 20. Beechwood had just sacked Pike for a big loss. Then Dixie called the trick play, it went to the 20 and led Dixie to a score just before half to make it 21-7. Bruns and Vocke both had some excellent runs tonight. Pike is a load at QB.

Forgot to mention that it was nice to see #7 on the field for Dixie tonight after being rolled off on a stretcher last week.

That's more like it! I dont have a problem saying I'm wrong. Good outing by the Colonels. Hopefully this is the beginning of a winning streak.

From only seeing the second half, Beechwood is going to struggle if they are behind and have to throw the ball. The QB for Beechwood seemed to throw short or behind his recievers most of the time.

QB for Dixie (Pike), looks like a man playing against boys.

Beechwood plays as tough a non-district schedule as you'll find in class A. If they keep everyone healthy, they'll be really good in district and post-season play.

But is the schedule to tough for a class A school with only 36 players on the team.

Amen brother.

Some A schools would love to have 36 players.

Nice win for the colonels after last week's 4th quarter debacle. Interesting that Dixie went with the rushing game...great game by Bruns. The kid has some jets!

Colosimo did struggle last night, but appears to have a good arm. #7 came in for Beechwood and threw some nice passes, especially the TD pass. The receivers were open all night long as it looks like Dixie will struggle against a good passing team.

Nice win for the Colonels after last week's let down.

Someone told me before the game that Bruns was going to have a big game and he certainly didn't disappoint from what I heard.

Also heard things got a little chippy...what was that about?
