I think it is way to early to pick the starting QB for Boyle next year. You have two good young QB's that already know the system as well as the transfer that will be able to go thru spring practice. I do know that Baylor Murphy is a tough hard nosed football player with the skill set that a good QB needs. It will take someone very good to beat him out. He is a 6'0 180 lb. and will be a Jr. Guy Turner is 6'1 160lb. and will be a soph. Both kids are very athletic and can run and throw the ball. The QB position will not be a problem for the Rebels.

DC is a good team but not great. They appear to be about where they were this time last year. Other teams in the district and region seemed to catch up and pass them as the season progressed. They have to get out of a tough district for them. They have not been able to do that so far. Teams seem to figure them out the second time around and in tourney play. As far as another 6'11 player. I don't think that helps that much, since you can only play one at a time. Don't know where the districts and region tourneys are being held this year. That could also make a difference.

Almost the exact same place that both teams were last year. Boyle with 2weeks practice not shooting well and DC with year round practice winning the first match up. Wait until the second game in Feb. before you crown or discredit either team. Remember what happened last year. See where the "takers" are then.

Boyle has only had a week of practice for many of the kids who also play football. They usually don't play well until up in January. Many schools wish they had that same problem. They will be a tough out come Tourney time.

Boyle was already playing up from 3A numbers to 4A. They were very close and may have 4A enrollment now. Don't think they are going anywhere? I think you can only play up one class from your enrollment.

If you want to talk about QB's, then we also have to mention the one who has actually won something, The Rebel's Sage Dawson was the the winning QB in last years 4A championship and his numbers this year will compare favorably to those mentioned. All he does is win. Boyle may face one or both those mentioned and will cross that bridge when they get there. All I said was the LCA and Lex Cath QB's are probably the two best passing QB's in the state. If yours are better then they need to prove it.

I think most people are judging the Boyle secondary on the two games against LCA and Lex Cath. First of all these are probably the two best QB's in the state as far as throwing the ball. Boyle did not have Demauriah Brown in the game against LCA which made a huge difference. Against Lex Cath the secondary did not play well until the second half and still held a very good offense to 21 pts. Boyle has substituted freely in the other games to give some of their starters a breather. I think going into the playoffs the secondary will be a great asset to an already strong defense. This is why you play this type of strong pre district schedule. You find out what your weaknesses are and correct them.

I think you have 3 levels in 4A. The first level is Boyle, Corbin and Cov. Cath. The next level you have Franklin Co., Paducah Tilghman and Ashland and in the 3rd level the rest of the pack. You can be a good team at the 2nd level and still not close to the first 3.

Please remember that these first 6 games are just preparation for the playoffs. You make the needed changes based on what your weakness that might show in those games. If anyone thinks that Boyle won't be a really good defensive team buy playoff time, its a matter of wishful thinking. Adding Josh Bixler to that defense is a tremendous plus. His play in the second half of the LC game made such a big difference. Boyle has already played a tough schedule and add FD to that resume and they have already played against the likes of Corbin. I am not sure that Corbin has played against the likes of Boyle. If you don't think Boyle is capable of playing great defense, the you are whistling past the grave yard.

A lot of players have trouble trying to grab or tackle Quisenberry. You can't tacke what you can;t catch.LC didn't quit. Boyle just turned it up another notch. LC is a good team. Boyle is just that much better. Speed and overall toughness was the difference.

The question is can he cover Quisenberry, Brown , Stewart and both Bodners plus some others you don't know about yet.

Boyle didn't play their starters much more than the 1st quarter. Good move by Coach Haddix. I think everyone that dressed got to play for the Rebels.

I was sitting right on the 30 yd. line. Saw both plays clearly that you are talking about. I thought the running back got a great spot on the ball. Looked to be down 3 yds. short of the line to gain. Boyle just made a great defensive play on the QB and it was clear th.at he was short by at least 2ft. The offical on the LC sideline came running over with his foot placing the ball barely inside the 30, while one of the other officals moved it forward about another foot. Give the defense credit for a great play and leave the chain crew out of it. Boyle was the better team as the score shows. They beat LC earlier in the EKU 7on 7 so it is time to quit whining and move on.

The incoming freshman class at Boyle is loaded with special athletes both in football and basketball.

It was great for Danville when they were getting the Boyle Co. kids. Now the shoe is on the other foot and now the Admiral faithful think that is terrible even to the point where they might stop playing the Rebels. This is not hear say, it came from a Danville administrator.

I think that in this case UK probably did Kaden a favor in withdrawing the scholarship offer. I think it became evident that he had not progressed as most everyone expected thru his senior year. UK didn't feel that he would play in their system especially speed wise and gave him a chance to move on to play for a school that he would be better suited for. No doubt he was a very good high school player, but not great like everyone expected him to be. People in middle school were saying he was going to be another Herschel Walker. Of course we know that didn't happen. Hope for the best for the young man and that he goes to a school where he can play right away.

I think it is a clash between the number 5 team in the district and the number 1 team in the district just to be correct.

I don't know if there is a real advantage between the no.1 and no. 2 seeds. It is a mater of match ups and I can see advantages to both Lincoln and Boyle. We have seen a resurgence from Boyle after a slow start and so many football players on the basketball team. I also think that there can be a factor of being a little stale at the end of the season if you try and play too many games and practice basketball year round. I liked seeing my players play more than one sport, because I thought it kept them fresh and they didn't seem to burn out

Based on what? I have seen most of the really good ones and no disrespect to Spencer, he wouldn't make the top 20 at Boyle County much less the 12th region.

I think Garrard is out of contention mathematically for the 2/3 game with the loss to Danville.
