I honestly would expect to see lots of upsets in 4a playoffs this year. I don't think the dropoff is that much from teams 6-15ish. Some teams will matchup better with others and I expect to see lots of close games in the playoffs especially in the east. Going to be a battle. Obviously I think 1-4 are much better than the rest but should make for a fun postseason.

North Oldham's first year coach Brock Roberts has done an incredible job, building on the development Jamie Brown made over the past two years at North Oldham.   We'll see if they can justify a top 10 ranking over the course of the year, but make no mistake, the Mustangs are a competitive team, and fun to watch.   Franklin has had their number in the past - we'll see if North has closed the gap any this week.

From a Kentuckian living in Tennessee:  In what round of the 2023 playoffs does RPI become a factor? In 2022, looks like it wasn't used until the Semis except for Home field (example:  District champion LexCath playing at Runners-Up Boyle). In 2023, will the teams play against another District in the first two rounds and then the RPI will seed teams in Round 3?  Example: In Class 4A, if Boyle and Corbin win their respective Districts and win their first two playoff games, will they play in Round 3 (District #7 vs. District #8) or will RPI rankings determine where and whom they play.

The 3rd round. In that round they split the state up into West (districts 1-4) and East (districts 5-8). In the 3rd round the arrange the side of the state 1-4 in RPI, so the #1 seed in the West is playing #4 in the West, #2 and #3 play each other, and same for the East side. Then in the 4th round (Semifinals) they disregard the geography and just rank 1-4 in RPI. So that 4th round you can get some pretty wild travel times if it falls a certain way.

As always BGP does a much better job of ranking teams around the state compared to any other source available.  Period. With that said.....

I seriously think you all are sleeping on Ashland.  I would personally have them at three right behind Corbin. And, to be honest, I would not argue with anyone that had them above Corbin.

Bring on the non-believers, I can take it.
