  1. Both teams made quite a few mistakes from the start. A very sloppy offensive game, but pretty sound defensively. Congrats to PLD for two consecutive victories. I know GRC will get back on track for a big game next week against Lafayette.
  2. Most players and coaches would consider holding the #3 ranked team in the COUNTRY to only 2 TDs and forcing 4 FGs a strong point to grow on. Trinity will look back at their early season schedule as strength when they make a run for another state title. Holding ANY team out of the endzone on your side of the field is a positive. Congrats to Trinity! You showed your heart and toughness tonight. Good luck the rest of the way.:thumb:
  3. Good win for the Generals. They continue to build momentum going into district play.
  4. We simply don't have firepower this year. The D is very suspect against the run and I think Lone Oak could get revenge from their loss in the 2007 State Championship game. It should be a close game if Lone Oak has any kind of a running game, and if their D can shut down our O, they should get the W.
  5. I've seen both play this year and I'd have to take Cincy St. X big. At least a 2 TD victory for the Bombers.
  6. Elder is big and fast. Trinity may hang for a half, but by the end of the game, it won't be close. Elder is the #3 team in the country for a reason.
  7. About what I expected. Trinity progressed well in this game and are starting to look pretty good. This just shows me that even when "struggling" or "down", Trinity can't be contained.
  8. Great win for the Thoroughbreds. They've got momentum now and this should carry them through the next few weeks. Congrats!
  9. News said he wasn't seriously injured and was stable after the helmet-to-helmet hit he suffered. Prayers are with him for a speedy recovery.
  10. This should set up a great match-up when Lexington Catholic visits Lone Oak next Friday.
  11. 1A is wide open, but LCA is definitely a top contender to win state. Their backfield and wide outs are loaded with speed and can run with just about anybody in 1A. The Eagles have their best shot ever at winning state this year.
  12. Great win for Coach Colombia and the Cards. Sounds like it was an exciting game and a great atmosphere for football on a Friday night.
  13. Wow. Surprised to see this. Congrats to PLD. A great win for the Bulldogs. This should help them build some confidence as they continue their season.
  14. The news said McCaden now has 14 or 15 TDs on the season. Incredible numbers after just 3 games! :scared:
  15. LexCath made too many mistakes to compete in this one. They dropped at least 7 or 8 balls and missed plenty of tackles. The only solid drives they had, were ended by turnovers or offensive miscues. They shot themselves in the foot most of the game. They looked very timid and let the nerves get the best of them. Their defense also continues to be their achilles heel. The run defense simply can't step up and make the big play when they need to as they allowed X to run all over them. Catholic has a long road ahead of them if they want to compete for the 4A crown. They have the talent, but they must shore up the run D and find an offensive attack that works. Playing like they did tonight will get them nowhere, especially when you play against an army of monsters like X. Very disappointing game for the Knights. They are better than this and it's time to step up and show it.
  16. Quite a few of the front 7 on defense for Catholic are banged up, but they should be ready to go tonight. Nate Letton will be out again tonight, but should be back next week. Amos will play minimally on the O-Line, but other than that, the Knights are all set. It's GO-TIME! Go Knights!
  17. Should be a great game between two rivals in front of a large and rowdy crowd. I'll say: GRC - 35 MC - 28
  18. Fields doesn't seem to know much about high school football in Kentucky. He's too much of a homer to be taken seriously. Henry Clay should not be in the Top 5, likely not even Top 10. The only two teams that should be above Trinity are X and Highlands. Other than that, nobody is on their level, even in a down year like this. Male will have their chance to prove worthy two nights from now, but I would leave them at number 4 and put Boyle County in at number 5. Rees and McShara are a dynamic duo for the Rebels and they look like an unstoppable force in 4A this year. I know it's early, but I don't see LexCath beating Boyle nor do I see Bell giving them much trouble. But that's just my $.02.
  19. I remember that game well. I was only a freshman, but it's one of my favorite memories from LexCath and high school. I would really enjoy giving Glaser some as well, but I guess we'll see Friday night!
  20. You are correct. If we don't stop the run Friday night, it'll be a long, long night at Ford Stadium.
  21. I would have to agree. No matter how down either X or Trinity is, they're always in a league of their own. I'll say Trinity by 3TDs at least.
  22. X just has too much depth, power and strength for us. A great learning experience for our guys though. A bright spot is certainly Kyle Bolin. This young man has a lot of talent. Great arm strength, accuracy and mobility. He will be a great QB for us the next few years and his attitude and play resembles that of LexCath ex-QB and current UofL starter Justin Burke. I'm really excited to see him grow and develop over the next four years. He should be the next in a long line of great QBs to come out of Lexington Catholic.:ylsuper:
  23. I agree. Dunbar is down again this year and Woodford has a good team. Woodford by 3 TDs.
  24. Wow, you guys have an army up there! I hope we can get that big of a squad sometime. I'm looking forward to the game. It'll be a good growing experience for our guys.
