Very nice win for New Cath. Congrats to them.

Nice Job, 'Breds!!! Let's get the ball rolling.

You got 1 under you belts now build on this .

Great win for the Thoroughbreds. They've got momentum now and this should carry them through the next few weeks. Congrats!

Congrats to the Breds. Way to do N. Ky. football proud. I saw Kelly's stats running on TV. I believe they said something like 230 yards rushing on 37 carries. Sounds like Schneider just lined him up behind the big boys and played good old smash mouth.

Nice win for NCC. They should be in nice shape come playoff time playing this type of schedule.

NCC needed this. Happy to see a NKY team come out on top.

Way to go Newport Catholic. Are there any other stats. posted anywhere, besides Kelly's rushing (way to go Cris, and the Newport Catholic Line).

What's up with Madison Central getting blasted by a 2A school? I could see them losing, but 38-12?

RICHMOND — Led by a dominant effort by a big, physical and experienced offensive line, Newport Central Catholic racked up 327 yards rushing (averaging 6.2 yard per carry) and ran past Madison Central on Friday in Richmond.

The Thoroughbreds got 237 yards rushing and three touchdowns from Chris Kelly and 90 yards on the ground from quarterback Brady Hightchew as they built an 18-point, third-quarter lead and pulled away for a 38-12 win.

“They controlled the line of scrimmage,” Central coach Kenny Turner said. “But, we knew that (was their strength) coming into the game.”
