LaSalle (OH) 41 Covington Catholic 10 (Called at halftime due to heat index)
Berger #37 for LaSalle, I think sought after by Northwestern, disrupted a lot of what CovCath wanted to do on offense and Leahy #69, possibly headed to UC is a beast. Best two defenders CovCath will see all year. The wide receiver #10 Kief I think is like 6'-6" was a huge match up problem for the Colonels.

LaSalle (OH) 41 Covington Catholic 10 (Called at halftime due to heat index)
Scout is 100% correct, the KHSAA has a heat index rule, no gray area. There was no doubt in my mind that it would not be completed. The fumble at the LaSalle 6 on first and goal for the Colonels that was returned to the CovCath 45 was a huge play. As was the punt return for a TD for LaSalle. As was the first kick return of the year against CCH to the Colonel 45, as was the blocked punt at the Colonel one yard line after starting CCH punter was out with an injury. CovCath outgained LaSalle on offense 267 to about 257. Bir threw for 226 and almost 200 in the first quarter. Capano for LaSalle for threw for 79 on 8 for 15. LaSalle ran for 160 and CCH held to 41 and 20 of those came on the last 45 second drive when LaSalle was in prevent. LaSalle was better, but not 31 points in a half better. Bir's only pick of the year he was trying to throw it away and is slipped out of his hand and was tipped and then picked.

Coolest High School Stadiums
I've always had great football experiences at Campbell County. And one of the best concession stands around. Friday Night Lights.

Covington Catholic 42 Campbell County 2
Unsung stars going into the game that are going to get people to stand up and take notice: Charlie Mader at WR and Nick Davis on defense was a tackling machine and played very inspired football.

Covington Catholic 42 Campbell County 2
Lots, and I mean LOTS to be encouraged about on both sides of the ball. I'm going to go off the board and say one of the most impressive things I saw on the field was Evan Talkers put a ball about 5 yards past the back line of the end zone on a kickoff. He's going to have the leg to challenge Popham for longest field goal for CCH and that is 57 yards.

Madrick Resigns as Holmes Athletic Director
He should be in every hall of fame. He's the model for athletic directors. He'll be missed in the community more than he'll be missed as the AD.

Is Rick Shumate leaving Beechwood?
Rick Shumate did a great job at Beechwood. But let's not kid ourselves Michael Romes put Beechwood back on the map.

Maybe Coach L can get some deals on Jim Tressel's sale on red sweater vests??? Best of luck to him. To all Crazies, a sweater vest night when Coach L comes back to Park Hills is going to be a must.

Covington Catholic 2 Covington Holy Cross 0
How many districts, other than the 35th, have every team with a winning record and 3 teams with 20 wins or more and are the top 3 in their region? Beechwood 25 - 6 Covington Catholic 22 - 8 Holy Cross (Covington) 20 - 5 Holmes 10 - 9

Who Remembers CCH's Todd Jacobs
7th on the all time scoring list at CCH. Three year starter. St. Pius Panther and lives down the street almost next to the J-man. Oh yes, and brushes twice a day.

Beechwood 8 CovCath 2
I'm not sure why Shumate does not bat more. I think he has one of the highest averages on the team.

Beechwood 8 CovCath 2
Nope. Computer/internet issues. To be resolved by Districts.
