  1. NCC should be rated higher than ND who lost to Holmes by ten at Notre Dame.

  4. Holmes proved that last Wed when they beat ND by ten points so I totally agree with I4C.
  5. Holmes PG Stovall FR G Kilburn SR F Harris SO F Englemon Eighth C Gulley SO
  6. Injuried or not ND has an experienced team so with that being said all teams may suffer one at some point. Thats why its a team and not an individual sport. Holmes is young with only senior Deena Kilburn as an experienced varsity player. The Lady Bulldogs start a freshman point guard named Jaynice Stovall, eighth grade forward Tyrah Englemon, sophmore forward Jynea Harris, and sophmore center Amori Gulley all who are first time varsity starters. The Lady Dogs also have a key injured player name Maurrisa Brown. This years team is not a carry over from last years team because Coach Perkins has his own style of play. He has the girls believing in them selves and buying into his system which if you check his resume he has had plenty of success with what he does. So enough with the excuse please cause for eight years we have made none. Our team played a great game against a real tough ND team. The difference was that we finally hit free throws which if your look at previous games we miss a ton. Go Lady Bulldogs!!!
  7. Scott needs to have more confidence in their younger players or they will continue to have losing seasons. I find it hard to believe that some of the players they have standing on the side line can't help this team.
  8. Garnett has not done anything at the JV level to warrant a varsity position he has ran more kids from the Conner program than any coach that I have seen. He has not had a winning season since I have known him and he has not help to develope any of the players that he has coached. Rowland is the coach that keeps the kids focus enough to make it to Hicks at the varsity level.
  9. Our move was for personal reason so get your facts straight before you make assumption. As far as regrets we miss coach Hicks a lot he was very instrumental with our son developement. But due to things that were out of our control we moved on. Hicks was very helpful in that move and for that we have nothing but love for him. Meechie has always been a team player thats his character which also alows him to be very coachable he does what is asked of him. As far as the game between them he has nothing to prove by trying to show up his former teammates.
  10. Holmes after the state tourney are now 24-2 their key players are Markel McClendon, James Bolden, Kenneth Poetter and Jason Covington. AB Combs height advantage was the difference in the game which caused some problems but the final score of that game was 38-36. Their other loss came in a regular season loss to Ockerman
  11. Holmes lost to AB Combs by 2 as far as not shooting well Friday they won by 25 points so someone had to be hitting some shots by the margin of victory Saturday is when they shot poorly and lost.
  12. Holmes 7th grade team will also be playing in the state tourney with a 20-1 record.
  13. Avery is available to play in this game he feels fine.
  14. Herndon hit the tip in at the buzzer to send it into over time I was there after Elijah missed the shot.:dancingpa
  15. Homes seven grade team will also be playing the state tourney this year they are 15-1 only loss has come to Ockerman which was by 10
  16. Last year my son participated in this game for the Ky team and we paid $250 They recieved plenty of items my only problem was that it seem to me that Coach K catered to the Highland players more than other local players my son was in on three plays caught three passes and sat the the rest of the game which I felt was very humiliating to him considering he was in the top 5 in the state. I personally could careless about the perks he wanted the exposure more than anything and was not given the oppurtunity like some so I lost alot of respect for Coach K last year.
  17. Mason Co struggled against Highlands and lost Holmes will be to much for them defensive wise and offense wise to many match up problems
  18. Sometimes people twist things instead of asking the right sourse but you know as well as I that is what makes for good conversation. As we find out you will Thank you.
  19. At this time no one has told us that he has a fracture we will have a MRI tomorrow and go from there. He at times feels good but we still want to make sure ourselves so that he does not do any damage if it is a sprain.
  20. Sportsmanship is the reason Holmes does not blow teams out as we can clearly see. Thats why they look bad at times it is cause they only play a slow tempo style when they should be running uptempo. The dogs lack a true leader on the team which is why they are struggling this year. The coaching staff probally would love to beat teams by 30 or 40 points but they realize the backlash they would get from other schools. Politics play a key role in how certain teams play which keeps the dogs on a short leash. As athletic as they are it would seem to be a no brainer but we dont see what this coaching staff has to contend with just keeping this group on the same page each and every day. At times it a challange to have them play as a team alot of selfishness has been displayed durning alot of this years game. Some players are still stuck down state and have yet to realize that this a new year so now you have to start over but this work even harder. The coaching staff also has to deal with alot of egos which make for a interesting year because all the players see and hear is how good they are no one wants to tell them the truth and that is if they plan playing at the next level they must start playing more as a team instead of like the superstars that they think they are this is high school many of them will be in for world awakening if and when they go on to college but at the end of the day you still have to suit up and play nothing will be handed to them just becasue Holmes is accross their chest and thats is what winning a state championship will do to you if lack discipline.
  21. Meechie has a foot injury that is not 100% until it heals he will not be playing.
  22. Ballard 60, Holmes 52 - An explosive first quarter by Ballard gave them plenty of room to work as the Bruins outscored Holmes 21-12 in the opening eight minutes of play. Three three-point field goals were the only baskets the Bruins could convert from the field, but they still held on to a 31-22 lead at the half. Ballard extended their lead in the third quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 12-9 to take a twelve point lead into the final quarter. Even with senior Elijah Pittman in the locker room due to an ejection the Bulldogs managed to cut the Ballard lead to six points but couldn't get any closer as Ballard sealed the 60-52 win with seven fourth quarter free throws. Holmes was led by Ricardo Johnson with 18 points including 10 in the final quarter. Ian Chiles and Keisten Jones scored 14 points apiece for Ballard. The win advanced the Bruins to the consolation final.
