Villa led at the half 26 to 25 only to score 10 2nd half points while the Dogs went on a major 3rd qtr run with a suffocating press.

Avery was out also for the Dogs.

Avery, Pittman or not, there is no reason for Holmes to be down at half, I was there and was very disappointed with the way they looked. They were down 12-9 with 1 second left in the first, then Holmes hit 4 3's in a row to take a lead only to let Villa close the half on a 12-4 run and with the lead. They looked awful.

 

2nd Half the Dogs imposed there will with a very nice press and playing uptempo and in transition. Once the dogs were in control they went back to a slower pace and made more mistakes. This is not a half court team, they have to play uptempo or they are playing to the advantage of weaker opponets.

Why doesnt Holmes press more? They should bring in Hayes/Herndon/Slusher off the bench and just run em ragged.

I thought the same thing. If so, this will be the second suspension issued by Henley to Pittman this year.

Say what you will there was a whole lot of effort on the court, as you can see by the pics. Diving for balls, tough rebounding, etc.

I spoke with Ron Madrick (Holmes AD) and he said the KHSAA suspended him for the mandated one game and then the coaching staff/athletic director gave him another game as well for receiving the two T's against Ballard.

 

He will be back tomorrow night against Newport.

Avery likely won't play for the next two games either. I believe he goes back to the doctor in 2 or 3 days but I overheard someone mention he had a fracture in his foot? Maybe someone can clarify.

 

He was dressed tonight though and participated in all of the pre game warm ups.
