Holmes travels to Hebron Tuesday night to meet the Cougars in what will be a homecoming for Demetrius Avery against his former team.

Any chance this game even gets played? Meteorologists are predicting 6-8 inches today.

Thoughts?

I would say zero chance it gets played tonight. On another note, I wonder if Avery regrets leaving Conner. I don't know him but I believe he started at Conner and now I rarely see his name in the box score. I know he was hurt for a while but I really thought he would be starting for Holmes and be able to replace Riley. I only saw a couple of their games and he came off the bench in those and didn't contribute much.:idunno:

Game is tomorrow night...not tonight.

Oldjams might be able to answer a little better, but Demetrius is a team first type of player. I'm sure he'll trade the personal success for the team success he's having with Holmes right now. He isn't relied on to score much and just does what the coach asks of him. He does a lot of things for Holmes that doesn't show up in the box score. His defense has been outstanding this year.

Holmes has too much for Conner. Holmes by 12

I too think Holmes will be too much for the Cougars, especially coming off a lackluster performance against Campbell Co.

I see Avery having his best game of the year against his former teammates and Elijah Pittman getting back on track with a big game down low.

Holmes by 10-15....Conner simply doesn't match up well with Holmes outside of Hodges and Robinson.

What is the BCPS rule on games being played if schools are cancelled that day?

Never once questioned if he was a team player. I've only watched him a handful of times and thought he was a very good player. From an outside view, and I could be wrong, it looked as though he may be going to Holmes since they were losing their PG to graduation and he could take over that spot and have a great chance to go to Rupp. Then, mostly due to injury, he is less of a factor than I thought he would be as I thought he would excel with the talent around him. That's when I wondered if he would rather play less at Holmes and be a contributer and team player or possibly be one of the top two players on a solid Conner team. No disrespect to him at all.

I don't think you are giving Flesch at Conner enough credit. Defensively, I have personally seen him give fits to several players who have been bigger and athletic. He will definately be a huge contributor in this game. That aside, I still see Holmes pulling out a double digit win. Conner doesn't have the bench to play 4 quarters with Holmes.

Flesch is a nice player and I've said in other threads that I think he'll be one of the best point guards in nky next year, but who is he going to defend? The only one that I think he could have success guarding is Slusher and even he would be too big and strong for him, IMO.

He'd have trouble against Ricardo or Jeremiah because of their size, strength, and athleticism....IMO, of course.

How do you see Conner matching up with Holmes?

I understand where you're coming from, but again, OLDJAMS would probably be able to answer your questions a little better than myself.

Our move was for personal reason so get your facts straight before you make assumption. As far as regrets we miss coach Hicks a lot he was very instrumental with our son developement. But due to things that were out of our control we moved on. Hicks was very helpful in that move and for that we have nothing but love for him. Meechie has always been a team player thats his character which also alows him to be very coachable he does what is asked of him. As far as the game between them he has nothing to prove by trying to show up his former teammates.

Saw on the news that all evening activities have been cancelled for Tuesday.

My cousin's daughter goes to Conner and they got a call around 7:30 saying that school was cancelled tomorrow, as well as all evening activities.

Again, I said I don't know the situation and I said "from the outside looking in" and "I could be wrong"??? Never mentioned these were facts. I don't mean anything negative at all. There are transfers nearly every year in the three major sports and "MOST" are for athletic reasons.
