Closer than I expected, nice showing by the Wildcats. The tough schedule will definitely help them come District tourney time.

Odd game, E Pittman sitting out and R Johnson after starting the second half was sat down on the first offensive possession and remained sitting until one minute to go in the game. Lead was cut to 5 with just 4 minutes to go, #42 for PC was a real player today.

He seemed to be able to blow by two defenders all day.

I think my score is correct but here is the Heralds points.

Holmes 63 Pendleton Co. 52

Pendleton Co. 10 11 11 20 52

Holmes 16 12 13 22 63

Lloyd Memorial Classic

Pendleton Co. (5-6) -- Cooper 9, Greene 17, Walsh 2, Crozier 2, Monroe 11, Ferrell 9, Jones 3.

Holmes -- Herndon 3, Hayes 7, McClendon 3, Marfield 4, Slusher 11, J. Johnson 16, R. Johnson 8, K. Rice 14.

I hear Mason Monroe the Frosh from PC did very well against Rico Johnson picking his pocket a couple times and scoring. Rico only scoring 8 in limited time on the floor is surprising.

I think the Holmes coach was sending a pretty strong message during this game. And how nice is it to have the luxury to have those two strong players sitting while you win.

Pendleton County had the lead down to three points with two mintues remaining in the game. They played Holmes very tough.

When you are a team like Holmes, you will always get everyones best. Congrats to PC, but Holmes should have put this team away before sitting someone like RJ. Unless Henley was frustrated with his play or trying to send him a message I don't see the reasoning to pull him after one second half possession when you were only leading by 7 at half time. This isn't the Indianapolis Colts, you are not 14-0 and your ticket isn't punched. Play your guys.

If Coach Henley was attempting to send a message then good for him doing it in a tight game. Give other players an opportunity to step up and perform. Sends a strong message here as opposed to sitting them when they are up 30 points, what would that prove? Kudos to PC for a good effort.

Greene is leading this team as of late, takes the ball to the hole and not a bad outside shooter

He also had many assists dishing it for threes once the Holmes team collapsed on him. Heady player.
