  1. Showing my age here, but going back in time two names immediately jumped out. Don Gullett Reds World Series Champion was a fanatastic RB from KY. The other RB was from Simon Kenton in the late 60's. Charlie Siffel was ranked as Top 5 running backs in the country as a junior. The only problem he had was academics, he had trouble understanding the recruiting letters fro USC, UCLA, Alabama. It was a shame to see them thrown in the locker room garbage can. Both were unstoppable while playing both ways.
  2. I beleive that the Cougars will be extremely focused on the task at hand. They have been driven all season long towards the playoffs. It is the second season, everyone is 0-0 right now and loser stays home. Look for a big night in Hebron.
  3. I guess that is a valid reason but it's no big deal really... just filling in his blanks. That's odd though, that he could hear how the coaches on Conner's sidelines addressed the kids with the lack of coaching but yet he could not hear the announcer.
  4. #10 - Jake Mulderink - Senior - scored the TD you are referring QB is #7 - Drew Barker - Sophmore #22 - Cameron Fogle - Junior Names go well with numbers when posting.
  5. Both Cooper & Conner need to keep on winning through the playoffs and it could all be decided in about 5 weeks if they both keep playing hard. Too many worry and complain about who is better and where they are ranked when it only matters how far they make it in November and the 1st week of December. I'm anxious to see how the NKY teams do against all of the southern and western KY powerhouses listed in Guru's rankings??
  6. Not blasting anyone, just stating what needs attention if Conner wants to run deep in the playoffs. It is a repeatitive problem from week to week.
  7. Cooper's defensive line is a very solid group. Don't be so sensitive regarding credit for any certain group. It takes 11 on the field to make a solid team, not a couple of skill players or a segment of offense or defense. My comments were directed at the offensive line of Conner. Good luck against South Oldham.
  8. Field conditions made a huge difference tonight. Cooper controlled the line of scrimmage and took huge yards from the running game. Conner is built for speed and could not use it due to nasty field. Conners offensive lineman couldn't run block at all. I wonder if they even practice an attack style run blocking scheme. Doesn't look like it?? They would have a tough time pushing someone out of a phone booth. They are never downfield blocking, they seem to stand there and watch. Then they don't even help the ball carrier off of the turf. Watch the better teams Highlands and CovCath. Their lineman are always downfield blocking and are the first one to help their player off of the turf whether it's a 5 yd gain or 50 yd gain. Gamesare won and definately lost in the trenches. It's tough when your ball barriers are met at the LOS by a wall of lineman.
  9. UK will also have a Conner"s Cameron Fogle - receiver/slot on the sidleines along with Barker.
  10. Maybe on some special teams. We have known this young lady for a long time. She actually played at each level throughout the BC pee wee league, I beleive she has been playing for at least 8 years. She has a great attitude and just wants a chance to play.
  11. It was just a scrimmage! I hate it when fans put so much on the first scrimmage. You should read your own words of wisdom in other posts. BW is a very good team and will be playing in December. I'm sure the men coaching Conner have seen what adjustments need to be made and they will address. The have 2 weeks to correct the mistakes. You can close whatever door you need to, it will give the boys from Hebron something to kick open come district play. Best of luck to Conner and BW!
  12. Nick West made All-District as a Soph..
  13. Drew is turning a lot of heads with his size and passing ability. Conner has a couple of more kids that attended the NUC and received invites to the U100 camp also. A couple of sophmores are doing pretty well in this summer combine season. Jared Kunkle won top D lineman at the Cinn/Louisville NUC and Cameron Fogle WR/CB also received invites to the U100. The U100 will be the weekend of 7/8 and 7/9 in Indianapolis. Conner should have a bright future with the underclass talent and now playing in 5A. Should be fun to watch. Good luck to all 3 of these young Cougars!
  14. Did you see the Conner Dixie game today? Do you know anything about baseball? Maybe you should watch Conner play some more before you make statements that have no merit.
  15. Good article on KY Post.com. Congratulations to Austin Pugh for breaking career RBI record at Conner, keep piling them on. Now go get that HR record! Congratulations also goes to Michael Gill for breaking total career games played at Conner. Last night was a good night for record breaking Conner stats. These Conner seniors are a bunch of great young men. There parents have a right to be pround! Good luck in Districts boys!
  16. Probably because you cook the way you post!
  17. Let's just say I would take that lineup as my starting outfield anytime. Bloggers should really get their facts straight before they get on here.....right Slim! I know the ''young one's" older brothers pretty well and they will not even read BP threads because of stupid comments that have been posted on BGP regarding Conner over the last 7 years. Friday Night Fan.....Your mistake is listening to parents before you make your highly intelligent comments about a players abilities. I can't beleive that you would say Conner parents have issues with anything related to a Coaches decision and now you say that parents are keeping track of players and newspaper stats???? The young Fogle is batting over .400 which is a pretty good average on any level. Back to the post: It was a good game to watch. Cooper's young one's played very well. Jared Blank played well and AJ Collins had a big-time pinch hit DB that tied it up with two outs with the game on the line. I guess we should check the stats with the paper and make sure they they get it right!
  18. Congratulations to Ryle, they will be a legit contender come District tournament time. Do you really think that letting Mark Albrecht relieve and starting a Freshman in CF contributed to a 12-0 lead by Ryle right out of the gate? There were a few errors committed in the field by some upper classmen...so why does it make a difference if he started a freshman in CF??? There have been some bonehead plays by regular starters, so what's the reference to youth have to do with it. If you can play, you can play no matter what your age. There are pretty good freshman throughout the 9th region in case you haven't noticed. You take away the fluke sac bunt that turned into three runs scoring including the batter and it could have been a lot more interesting. When the time comes to play a District and rival opponent, Arlo will put the best players on the field that will get the job done. The subs for Cooner did a good job not giving up when the score was 12-0 after 2 innings. Congratulations to Austin Way, Hanson and Walters for the long balls.
  19. I'm not a big fan of people that don't read the posts. Price is a good player, never said he wasn't. The difference in shooting percentage was the key to the game, never said he was the reason for the loss. He had a great game. The biggest problem on here is that people don't read the posts all the way! They just like to stir it up for no reason.
  20. It was a great game for the young Eagles. They shot a collective 68% for the game vs. Conner's 36%. The 3rd quarter Scott probably shot high 80%, they all got hot at the right time and could not miss. The Conner kids could not put the ball in the hole in the 3rd quarter. Turnovers have killed them all year. Price does play hard, but your moxy boy has averaged more turnovers per game than points. Double digit average of turnovers per game from any point guard, kills any momentum that the team may generate. This was the biggest problem all year for Conner's freshman. Maybe the coaches will fix this issue next year. Should be interesting in the future. All of the boys on both sides played hard. Good luck Scott and the other 3 teams that remain.
  21. You better check the schedule of Manual again. They lost 6 games to some very good teams and won only 4 games. Three wins just happened to be against teams in their own district.
  22. Ryle coaches had a good game plan. Attack the defense before they could get set after reading the offensive formation. Conner needed to score when the opportunities were there. How can you wonder where Conner was for the first 46 minutes?? Conner had the ball inside of the Red Zone 4 times and came away with ZERO points. Conner had 2 TD passes dropped in the end zone for easy scores. I think the receivers could not beleive how wide open they were?? One dropped pass was picked off in the end zone to stop the drive. Also missed field goal from short range. Conner left at least 17 points on the field last night. If they convert those opportunities the outcome is much different. West had big numbers because they moved the ball up the field all night. Just couldn't get it in the end zone when they had their chances. Conner's #14, #34, and #21 played hard and had very good games. Ryle played well and did what they had to do to get a win. Good luck to all in the playoffs.
  23. Wow. Things must be really tough in Hebron, if Grandparents are trying to tell the staff how to coach and where to play little Johnny. No way, Grandma & Grandpa?
  24. Now my curiousity is peaked?? Slim or Roman - What do you think the statement meant? If the parents are self centered, usually the kids follow parental footsteps. This is football, 11 players on the field at once, each with a particular job to perform. Different from Basketball and Baseball where the individual player can dominate on the court or on the ball diamond. Don't you think the Coaches would or will address any players/parents that would interfere with a team? Were the same parents and players self centered in youth football in Boone Co?
