Cooper was up 3-0 at the half. Their defense dominated and offense moved the ball but kept getting penalties. Branch dropped a TD pass before they ended up kicking the field goal. Hope Barker is ok and gets well soon. He didn't have one of his better nights and Conner's first TD came off a Fogle pass and it was tipped by Cooper in the end zone before a Conner player hauled it in. This TD came after a Cooper fumble on their 30. Lots of flags thrown all night long.

Congrats to the Jag's on their first win over a Boone County school in their 4th year. Let's hope no let down against South Oldham next week.

Congrats to Cooper:thumb:!! Your Raceland fans are pulling for you.

I have to admit going into this game I thought Conner may win by a couple of scores. I thought 2 years ago Cooper would be the team to beat but then they had several good players unable to play and I thought it might shift back to Conner. This is a 7 point win but it "seemed" like Cooper was in control all night. Conner's 2nd TD came with the backup QB and Cooper had several penalties to keep Conner's drive alive and they were up 2 scores so they were in a little prevent it seemed. It was a hard fought game and Morris was able to stay in the whole game (normally cramps a lot) and did very well for Cooper. A nice screen pass to Collins for the final TD.

Cooper's D focused on Barker and Fogle all night and did a great job controlling them and not allowing any big plays. Two good players but they needed more help.

Congrats Jags. I believe this is a turning point for the Cooper program.

Cooper now needs to beat S Oldham to win the district. They do not fare well in a 3-way tie.

What are the tie breakers?

In a 3-way you count the wins of 4 teams you beat OTHER than the two other teams you're tied with. S Oldham looks to have the best chance of winning such a tie.

Congrats to Cooper! Stop the run against Conner and they struggle.

Wish this game could of finished out with everyone healthy. Hopefully there will be a rematch in a few weeks. Congrats to Cooper on this night.

Field conditions made a huge difference tonight. Cooper controlled the line of scrimmage and took huge yards from the running game. Conner is built for speed and could not use it due to nasty field. Conners offensive lineman couldn't run block at all. I wonder if they even practice an attack style run blocking scheme. Doesn't look like it??

They would have a tough time pushing someone out of a phone booth. They are never downfield blocking, they seem to stand there and watch. Then they don't even help the ball carrier off of the turf. Watch the better teams Highlands and CovCath. Their lineman are always downfield blocking and are the first one to help their player off of the turf whether it's a 5 yd gain or 50 yd gain. Gamesare won and definately lost in the trenches. It's tough when your ball barriers are met at the LOS by a wall of lineman.

I would first like to congradulate Cooper on a solid win. Second, you should give Cooper's D-line credit. They are a very good unit. Cooper's defense in general is doing a very nice job this season.

I wasn't going to get on here to comment since my kid graduated last year but I knew once someone brought up the injury to Conner QB as being the reason they lost I would have to say something. With no disrespect to the young man and I hope he gets better for next week as I'm sure he's a nice kid (don't know, haven't met him but I will assume all kids are good until proven different) but what did Conner do when he was in there? They had zero points in the first half. The only score when he was there was a Cooper fumble and and half back pass that was tipped away in the end zone but happened to land in the arms of another Conner player.

I feel very bad for the young QB, people on here talk about him like he is the next Joe Montana. I've only see him play 3 games this year and last and IMO he's not as good as West that was there (who was overrated and proved to be by having to walk on somewhere I believe) and I think Stellman was best of all and had a nice career at ThomasMore. Some on here say UCLA is after him..... he has size and I guess does good in camps but I wonder how many players across the country can't afford to go to these camps that are better than him. Don't build his head up too big where as if he don't make it big, that he will be happy at a smaller college.

I think Pike is in same situation going to all these camps and doing well in shorts and t-shirt. I feel for that kid as well as I don't see how he ever takes as snap at Auburn or any SEC school when he can't beat a 1A school in NKY and throws several picks. Towles I have seen a couple times over the year or two and he hits every back in stride and his passes to the crossing slant receiver is nearly perfect. He will do very good and gets less talk than these two.

Now, Barker may beat Cooper by 4 scores himself if they meet again but I doubt my opinion change. Good luck to the young man, get healthy, and keep working hard and go as far as you can.

Cooper's defensive line is a very solid group. Don't be so sensitive regarding credit for any certain group. It takes 11 on the field to make a solid team, not a couple of skill players or a segment of offense or defense. My comments were directed at the offensive line of Conner.

Good luck against South Oldham.
