I wasn't going to get on here to comment since my kid graduated last year but I knew once someone brought up the injury to Conner QB as being the reason they lost I would have to say something. With no disrespect to the young man and I hope he gets better for next week as I'm sure he's a nice kid (don't know, haven't met him but I will assume all kids are good until proven different) but what did Conner do when he was in there? They had zero points in the first half. The only score when he was there was a Cooper fumble and and half back pass that was tipped away in the end zone but happened to land in the arms of another Conner player.

 

I feel very bad for the young QB, people on here talk about him like he is the next Joe Montana. .

 

I've never seen anyone on here talk about him in that way. Yes, he is getting "interest" from D1 schools. They like something about him and will want to watch him develop. He has done well in some summer camps. He will get the chance to do that again next summer. However, anyone that expects him to look like a D1 QB when he is 15 years old simply doesn't know how to watch a kid play. His passing game is a work in progress. You see flashes and then you see reminders that he's that work in progress. Fortunately, he runs really well.

If anyone gets on here and says he's the "next" anything other than a potential D1 QB then they're setting the kid up for failure. My guess is he will have some nice options. We'll see. I can't wait to see how he progresses.

 

 

I am admittedly biased towards DB having known him since he was born. However, I've got the ability to see what he does well and what he doesn't. QS calls me a "blowhard." I'll live with that. I'll also roll with #7.

Cooper's D has fared well all year so I knew this was going to be a tough one for the Cougars.

 

Some teams do not do well on wet ground. Maybe Conner falls into that. They are certainly not a power team.

 

Coach Borchers is doing a strong job.

 

Looks like Conner needs Cooper to beat S Oldham so that Conner gets the #2. Otherwise, they probably get the 3 seed and travel.

Call me guilty as being one that thought Cooper was going to fall hard this year after losing their stud back from last year.

That's what you said last year about this year. Most of Cooper's varsity are junior's I think so they will be good next year as well. The year after next may be a different story. You don't have many posts today about last nights game. You had a lot to say the last year or so about this rivalry. I think if Conner would have won you would of had about 20 posts on this game. If they meet in the playoffs and Conner wins, which could happen, lets see how many post you have then.

When Cooper was built a majority of the kids came from Conner.

It is and it will get stronger. Cooper's first year had about 600 kids from Conner.

Cooper's defensive line is a very solid group. Don't be so sensitive regarding credit for any certain group. It takes 11 on the field to make a solid team, not a couple of skill players or a segment of offense or defense. My comments were directed at the offensive line of Conner.
