Ryle 31 Conner 22

Featured Replies

Ryle played probably its most complete game of the year tonight vs Conner. They established a strong running game with nice O-Line play and finally utilized big Tate Nichols, taking advantage of some short Conner corners. Ryle used ball control in the second half, eating up much of the 4th quarter and keeping the ball way from the explosive Cougar offense. Ryle's D-Line got enough pressure on West to force to errant throws, especially in the first half, although Conner did get two late scores inside the last 2-minutes. Travis Elliott had another outstanding game running the ball and got his first look at LB an put some real heat on the QB. Nice win tonight in Union!

Nice bounce back win for Ryle, I thought they would be a bit too physical for the Cougars.

Did I really see Tate Nichols catching a long pass down the sideline? I didn't think that play was in the arsenal. Ol' Coach must have been saving it.

I hear you Clyde, no reason not to use a 6'7" TE in the passing game. He's by no means Tony Gonzales but he should be a major part of their offense.

The best catch was when he was going out of bounds and had to look up towards the sky and behind him to find the ball.

Sounds like Conner moved the ball well but couldn't finish.

Elliott 246 yards

West 28/42 342 yards

Was Conner able to run the ball tonight? (outside of West).

Conner gave the ball to Pugh or any other back less than 6 times. There was no real attempt to form any resemblence of a ground game.

One-third of Conner's total offense was gained during their last two (successful) desperation drives with less then 2-minutes left in the game after Ryle was up 31 - 7. They were nice drives. Makes you wonder where they were for the first 46 minutes?

Congrats to the Raiders for the big Distric win.

Ryle coaches had a good game plan. Attack the defense before they could get set after reading the offensive formation. Conner needed to score when the opportunities were there. How can you wonder where Conner was for the first 46 minutes?? Conner had the ball inside of the Red Zone 4 times and came away with ZERO points. Conner had 2 TD passes dropped in the end zone for easy scores. I think the receivers could not beleive how wide open they were?? One dropped pass was picked off in the end zone to stop the drive. Also missed field goal from short range. Conner left at least 17 points on the field last night. If they convert those opportunities the outcome is much different. West had big numbers because they moved the ball up the field all night. Just couldn't get it in the end zone when they had their chances. Conner's #14, #34, and #21 played hard and had very good games.

Ryle played well and did what they had to do to get a win. Good luck to all in the playoffs.

Ryle also missed on opportunites in the red zone, missing on a 4th and 1 from the Conner 9yd line and a lost fumble on a brilliant run by Keefer Eubanks only to lose it inside the Conner 20. So, Ryle easily left points off the board as well.

This game was not close. Ryle was much better last night and they left many points on the field. I also disagree that Conner moved the ball up and down the field all night. They moved the ball well at times, many of which when the outcome had already been decided. Conner is a good team but Ryle was better in all phases.

What was up with Conner's D line chop blocking??? They did it at least 6 times. It is only my opinion but no matter who you were pulling for that's a cheap shot that puts a player at great risk of a knee injury. If you can't move them you try to cause an injury????? I would not expected Coach T to promote that. The ref warned them or at least appeared so but never threw a flag, which he should have.:ohbrother:
