Ryle's defense will have to find a way to contain X's speed advantage as well as force some turnovers. Ryle QB Connor Hempel is talented, but he and the Ryle O-line will have to play the game of their life to keep up. Ryle kids have a ton of heart, but will it may be to much of a mountain to climb...X should win, but it will be earned and not a "running clock" game! Great to see all the "respect" L-ville fans give NKY teams...

Very accurate discription of the game! Hard-hitting and intense. Ryle's QB's Hempel was off (mostly sailing it high) on his throws both from the wind and the quick HHS defense and it cost them on several INT's.

It was actually 24-14 and then Highlands scored to make it 31-14. In the 3rd quarter, Ryle was down 17-7 and with the ball around mid-field and driving when Hempel's pass was tipped and intercepted. There were times when this game could have gotten real close...

If somehow the Birds could be kept in the 20's, Ryle would have a real shot at this game. But, easier said than done as Ryle will have to play ball-control on offense and make the most of every opportunity. You should see more balance from the Raider O as Hempel continues to vary his receiver targets which will help prevent the Birds from focusing entirely to stop the ground game.

I beleive the "new look D" refers specifically to the personell changes as opposed to anything scheme-wise. Adding (offensive) players like Elliott, Fugate, Nichols and Hempel has added speed & quickness to the D.

Our QB's need to get the ball out to the receivers quicker. Seemed like both Newton & Fidler would step back in the pocket and look at the receiver and wait for the receiver to break on their move...and THEN throw it. Timing will come....just need it to come next week vs MSU. Huge game!

Tate Nichols has played very well this season on both sides of the ball. Primarily used as a blocker on offense, only recently has Ryle used him as a weapon and he's come up big with a TD last week and another big catch last night. He's also solidified our D-line significantly as well.

Great to see Ryle get the best of their rivals with a dominant performance! Boone just didn't have the weapons to contend in this one.

Anybody know if you can pick up the IC6 NKY televised game in NKY on Dish?

Seems like every game I'm at, the weather has sucked lately. The Ryle/SKenton game and the Beechwood/Ludlow game weather were no picnics.....keep the rain gear ready!

Ryle also missed on opportunites in the red zone, missing on a 4th and 1 from the Conner 9yd line and a lost fumble on a brilliant run by Keefer Eubanks only to lose it inside the Conner 20. So, Ryle easily left points off the board as well.

Conner gave the ball to Pugh or any other back less than 6 times. There was no real attempt to form any resemblence of a ground game.

Ryle played probably its most complete game of the year tonight vs Conner. They established a strong running game with nice O-Line play and finally utilized big Tate Nichols, taking advantage of some short Conner corners. Ryle used ball control in the second half, eating up much of the 4th quarter and keeping the ball way from the explosive Cougar offense. Ryle's D-Line got enough pressure on West to force to errant throws, especially in the first half, although Conner did get two late scores inside the last 2-minutes. Travis Elliott had another outstanding game running the ball and got his first look at LB an put some real heat on the QB. Nice win tonight in Union!

Last year's game with these two team went down to the final drive with Conner winning. I expect this one to be just as tense. Ryle going to have to get pressure on West. 31-30 Ryle!

Ryle might want to consider putting Elliott in at LB on certain situations vs SK...heard he's also a beast on D...Everything will have to be put on the line to win this one!

Wow, really...no problem at all eh? If SK blows out Ryle and Conner, then they should well represent NKy in the state playoffs because that would be impressive.....bring on the game and let's settle this!

One would deduce that SK is going to have to decide to either key on stopping the run or the pass. Either way, Ryle's balanced attack will have opportunities to move the football. You simply cannot take away all their weapons and barring key turnovers & penalties Ryle will move the ball on SK. Miles Simpson may be the best back in KY, but I have to believe Ryle will stack the box and try and make SK throw the ball. Both teams will score.....

This one will come down to mistakes and penalties and who makes the most of them will lose. Ryle must find a way to slow down the Pioneer ground game and continue it's own balanced offensive attack. Really close one....but,going to be a homer and pick Ryle 38-35.

Luv the way Ryle is mixing the pass in with their powerful running attack. I believe you'll see them throw more on running downs and vice-versa to become even more unpredictable. New Cath tried to bring 7-8 in the box on defense and Ryle picked them apart through the air. Pick your poison. Dixie was overmated physically in their scrimmage a few weeks back. Being down on the field for that one, you could hear the Dixie coaches emploring their kids to "hit like they are"...However, I believe Dixie will be better prepared in this one, but ultimately can't stop all of Ryle's weapons on offense. Had the chance to see several freshman team as an official and really would like to see Cooper play Ryle if possible.
