Ryle 48 Boone County 7

Featured Replies

Big win for Ryle. Number 2 in NKY host a playoff game.

Disappointing season for the Rebels.

Great to see Ryle get the best of their rivals with a dominant performance! Boone just didn't have the weapons to contend in this one.

How is Ryle's tight end, I believe his name is Tate Nichols, doing this year? Haven't heard anything about him, is he still committed to Stanford?

Yes I believe so. All signs point to the offensive line at the next level for him.

No surprises here. Now the Raiders prepare for Highlands round 2.

Tate Nichols has played very well this season on both sides of the ball. Primarily used as a blocker on offense, only recently has Ryle used him as a weapon and he's come up big with a TD last week and another big catch last night. He's also solidified our D-line significantly as well.

Where has cooperstown been? Always love to read his take on the contests.

Just laying low. :sssh: And out of town a bit.

I am impressed with Ryle's offensive line. They - like every other OL - never get any credit or recognition for the offense's success, but they have done a very nice job overall this season. Newspapers only talk about skill players, but these guys deserve a ton of credit for Ryle's offensive production this season.

Boone is just so one-dimensional. When you are prepared to do only one thing - run the ball up the middle - and aren't able to do that, it leaves you with very little options. Ryle's pass rush and secondary coverage was certainly very good last night, but it's obvious that Boone's passing game is woeful.

The Ryle-Highlands game next week just might be very interesting . . . .

Ryle will play Pleasure Ridge Park (PHP for short) at home in two weeks. This is a magnet school academy in Louisville.

PRP, you mean?

I have a question. I just watched the Ryle vs. Boone on ICN (and it was hit and miss when I got to catch glimpses of the game) and I don't have it on tape to compare, but I could have sworn that when Highlands played Ryle, Fugate was #17 and on the Boone vs. Ryle broadcast it looked like Fugate was #99. Am I missing something?

You are correct, normal home(Black) and away(White) jerseys, he does wear #17. They wore Orange for Boone and must not have a #17 jersey in Orange.

No. 99 is a special number that Fugate earned the privilege to wear it for the Boone game. He lived up to expectations. What a great game for him! Only 2 catches but a TD and about 70 yds -- what exciting and excellent plays he made (with the help of some pretty fine passing from Hemple.) Congrats Trenton!
