This one will not be pleasant

If I had to take 1 team it would be the Sheldon Clark Cardianls. They have lost some games, but their schedule was brutal and they are finally healthy again. SC could be a tough out for anyone in AAA.

JJ Jude & JK Hall are way to much for Scott. This one is over by halftime. JC: 42 Scott: 7

I would be shocked this time around if Haywood is not ready for West Carter because this Comets team is good. That being said I am not sure if the Belfry players will be ready for West Carter. The kind of speed and athleticism that the Comets bring to the table is hard to prepare for in practice with scout team players. The Comets are capable of beating any team in the region with their big play capablity. Belfry will have to try and contain the big plays if they want to win this game. Should be a good 1st round match up IMO.

Belfry has Phillip Haywood........... Belfry is a bigger AAA football team, but not huge. They have good team speed and a fullback that is quick and runs very hard. He is tough to bring down and has speed to rip off big runs. Belfry has some kids who can really move in open field and will run the football 80-85% of the time. The 2010 Pirates are like almost every other Haywood coached team they are not going to beat themselves.

This is one of the best (if not the best) 1st round matchups in the state at AAA. Pike Central is a high octane offense that can score points quickly and in bunches. Russell is a team with GREAT tradition and can keep the football from opponetns and limit the number of possesions. I can see this one going either way. Russell has flown under the radar most of the year with injuries and the wing-t can give defenses fits if you are not used to seeing it. Russell has had problems defending the pass in recent years and few teams pass it better than Pike Central in Eastern Kentucky. I am not ready to make a prediction on the outcome only that this one has all the makings of being a dandy.

Mason will run away with this one from the start. East Ridge has getten better this year no doubt about it, but they are not in the Royals' league. Mason is one of the few teams in the East that I think can play for a state championship. I'll say: Mason Co: 56 East Ridge: 14

Lawrence will take care of business in this one. The Bulldogs will have a chip on their shoulder over not being the #1 seed. I think they will win this one and as a prize they get an all expenses paid (by the gate) trip to Log Mountain on November 12th. I'll say: Lawrence Co: 35 Rockcastle: 7

Knox will win this one going away. Greenup will not slow down Knox and Knox will have a big lead early and call the dogs off quick. I will say: Knox: 49 Greenup Co: 14

I think Belfry is a little down and West Carter is better than normal, but this game is still at Pond Creek. Belfry does not drop many games at home and I don't see this one being any diffrent. I am going to say Belfry wins. Belfry: 35 West Carter: 21

It will be tough. Knox is much mre physical, but the game will be in Morehead and with Cross & Wing in the backfield Rowan will have a shot.

Looks good to me. I think Mayfield is ahead of the pack right now and will be tough to beat, but 2 - 7 are all solid teams that could get Mayfield with a little help.

Mayfield wins. It seems to me the best team in A is Mayfield. Everyone else might be playing for 2nd.

This may be true, but I was in the pressbox and at times above it and they were talking to someone on the other end of their headsets. I think some may have been working because there were Belfry coaches coming and going, but they were talking to someone.

Radio announcer said that Belfry had 5 yards total offense in the 2nd half. Anyone who slept on Sheldon Clark when they were 2 - 4 had better watch. This team played a brutal schedule and can play with and beat any team in AAA.

I did not see ths one coming. I did not expect Rowan to slow down Lawrence and I thought Rowan would not have much success on LC's defense except for a few big plays from Cross. Congrads to the boys from Morehead. It looks like the Bulldogs will travel to Log Mountain again this year, but this time it will be in the 2nd round. That does not look, sound, or even smell good for Louisa.

And the wheels on the bus fall right off, fall right off, fall right off. The wheels on the bus fall right off all through Ashland. Ok I was just joking around. But in all honesty I do not see how Ashland can be so athletic and not win this game. I know the Johnson Central game was draining physically and emotionally, but Ashland is to talented to let this happen. A road playoff game will be tough for the Tomcats, but a win could get them another shot at JC.............

Congrads to JJ Jude, Jim Matney, the Johnson Central coaching staff, Johnson Central, and the Johnson County community. Coach Matney is now the coach for the most passing yards in a sinlge game (Jessie Watts - Sheldon Clark vs Allen Central 1991: 651 yards; former national record) and the most yards rushing in a single game JJ Jude (Johnson Central).That is impressive IMO.

The only game Lawrence County has lost was to a very good Sheldon Clark team. Sheldon Clark has had some injuries and has played a brutal schedule but is still one of the best teams in all of AAA. I will be shocked if this game is closer than 2 scores. Lawrence County is a better team from what I have seen. Rowan County has the ability to score from any where on the field and that will help keep them in the gam I think, but the Bulldogs will be to much in the end and will walk away with this one.
