Central with only one blemish on their record this year takes on Russell, McGlone and the Wing-T. Thoughts?

Pike Central wins 21

This to me is one of the more intriguing first-round matchups regardless of class. I think Pike Central has shown that they have a team that can get all the way to Bowling Green. But they have one of the toughest draws in 3A.

This is one of the best (if not the best) 1st round matchups in the state at AAA. Pike Central is a high octane offense that can score points quickly and in bunches. Russell is a team with GREAT tradition and can keep the football from opponetns and limit the number of possesions. I can see this one going either way. Russell has flown under the radar most of the year with injuries and the wing-t can give defenses fits if you are not used to seeing it. Russell has had problems defending the pass in recent years and few teams pass it better than Pike Central in Eastern Kentucky. I am not ready to make a prediction on the outcome only that this one has all the makings of being a dandy.

I hope Russell wins but looking at how each team has played & their records, I'd have to give the edge to Pike County Central.

I'm feeling Russell in this one. PCC has had a great season, but Russell's wing T is tough to get ready for in one week.

If Russell dominates time of possession they can win a tight one but they have to stop the big plays of PCC.

Appalachian News Express had in the paper yesterday information on Pike County Central being investigated by the KHSAA. If they broke the rules then they should not be allowed to play or advance IMO.

Pike Central has one heck of a O-line to give Boggs plenty of time to throw. If Russell is suspect against the passing game as some have posted then it will PCC by 3 td's.
