I am and will always be a Rick Pitino fan for what he did at UK. That being said it is sad that he can't own up to a mistake like flipping the bird. Of all the issues he has had while at UofL this is one of the least important IMO. Own it up to emotions of a trying off season and a big rivalry and move on. The NCAA thing is what it is. Should Pitino get in some trouble? IMO yes. He should have more control over the program, but nothing would surprise me with the NCAA. They swing the hammer at SMU and look the other way at UNC.

North Carolina is a really good basketball team on offense but they don't guard anyone.

Those are all three great programs and I don't want to take anything away from their accomplishment, but I also think this goes to show that in KY football is broken down into two groups. The "Haves" and the "Have Nots". I assume other states are similar but in KY the talent gap is normally pretty wide.

In no particular order Coach K Cal Pitino Izzo Smart I think Self is one of the most over rated coaches in college basketball. Few do less with more IMO

I agree with all this. More often than not when you try to cover up the truth you make the act worse instead of better.

To say that he is not liked by many at all is a bit broad. Has he rubbed some people wrong? Of course. Every coach with success has, but the people who do not like him are in the minority. I know several who do not exchange Christmas cards with Matney but he is a great person who cares about his kids and his community. Coaching is about your commitment to your team not to others. Would I have beat some of the teams the way he did? No. But also remember some of these teams were the same ones beating others like drums, but get their panties in a twist when the shoe is on the other foot.

Does not seem to effect the Basketball State Tournament at Rupp. Seldom is there much of a crowd in the upper level. Bottom line with KHSAA it is all about $$$. As long as sponsors will throw cash at them in BG Tackett and his tools will continue to use WKU.

I have to agree. Yes he has some of the measurables and seems to be an Outstanding young man. I am sure it is a loss for UK from having another quality individual in the locker room, but the QB position is as much about a feeling as it is a skill set or talent. There are many QB's that do not fit the mold but have a great deal of success regardless. My issues with Towles have always been his decision making (post snap reads) and his pocket presence (knowing when to step up, take off, and feel pressure). Those are items that I feel you either have or do not. Towles did not show an improvement in either of those areas to me over his two years so why does anyone think they would be better elsewhere? On a side note I wish him the best of luck. He is from what I know a great young man that will be successful in life regardless of what happens on Saturdays next year.

I will be shocked if this is not a running clock. There is a big difference in athletes in this one IMO. Hope both teams come away injury free but expect Male to have their way in this one. Good luck to both

Gary Ball is a good sports personality and a GREAT PERSON. There are few people in the state that out more time into high school athletics than Gary Ball. That being said o don't know if I agree with the pick. Won't be surprised if Lafeyette wins as they are dangerous, but wouldn't pick against SK in this one but Gary knows his stuff.

Only teams I called great were Male, Trinity, Sinin Kenton, and Scott County. I doubt South Warren could hold any of those teams to 3 points. I am not sure South Warren could score 3 points in any of those teams.

Simon Kenton and Scott County would not score on South Warren???? There is a big difference in being a GREAT 4A school and a GREAT 6A school. South Warren is special no doubt about it but your constant pounding of your South Warren chest is giving the SW fans a Superman complex. Don't get to ahead of yourselves yet. Enjoy your great season that could possibly end with a state title but don't think cause you are the biggest kid on an average block that you are the baddest kid in the neighborhood. Also who are you to cry lack of knowledge on someone about a hypothetical game that will never happen. You do not know what the outcome would be more than anyone else. I could see Scott Co and Simin Kenton possibly putting a running clock on SW with a little luck.

I think anyone not named Trinity and Male would fit the role of darkhorse. Now I also feel that Scott Co and Simon Kenton may be good enough to beat either of the fore mentioned if they get a couple of breaks. Anyone outside of those 4 and it would take an act of God IMO.

Towles doesn't get credit for dropped passes. Maybe they should not be held against him as much but that is like giving the reciver the yardage since he was open but Towles there it 6 rows in the bleachers. I think the point he was trying to make was Barker was as effective if not more in 3 series as Towles was the entire rest of the game.

At this point does anyone even care? Being a UK football fan is like being a janitor at a Mexican restaurant. Some days may be better than others, but you are still cleaning up poop at the end of the day.

You honestly think Towles decision making (post snap) and his pocket presence is enough to take UK to the next level? I like the kid but these are two areas that he is AWFUL in. I do not know if Barker is the answer (I expect he is not) but I do not believe Towles is. The difference is I have seen what Towles is capable of I have not seen what Barker is capable of. The sample size is to small. Why not try something else? News flash this way is not working. On a side note you are correct our O line is awful and our receivers are not doing any favors but the two areas I mentioned are on Towles and no one else, well maybe Dawson to an extent. He puts Pat in bad spots.

Congrats on a great season to West Carter. The way the team battled back when it looked like Lawrence was ready to put them away is a huge testimate to the resolve of the kids. You all deserved to be district champs. As for the game, I feel like the better team won. Lawrence got a little conservative with a big lead and let off the gas some but West made some plays and Lawrence got tight. The decision for West to play one on one with the Dalton's was a rough one as they abused the West secondary early in the game. The Dalton's are match up problems for anyone in EKY. Exciting game to watch with both teams making big plays. West's QB is lightening in a bottle and their running back ran extremely hard. One of the Dalton's (not sure which) made a Sports Center type one handed catch then caused everyone in West's secondary to miss on his way to a TD. Great night of football in Olive Hill.
