Got to see Tates Creek this year in the Pike County Bowl as they got handled by Belfry. Having seen both teams my prediction is:

Ashland 35

Tates Creek 17

Creek is a different team from early in the year as they almost defeated Lafayette for the District Championship.

I am going with Creek.

This is one game that I have no idea about. The one thing that I do know is that TC likes to throw the ball, which is your best bet at beating Ashland.

Other than that, I know nothing about them, there doesn't seem to be many Tates Creekers on BGP, so there is also little info about them.

Going out on a limb, I think it will be a high scoring game. TC will get theirs through the air but their defense won't have an answer for Ashlands running game. I'll take Ashland 42-28, at the moment. If anyone can give me any info on Tates Creek other than scores I may change my mind.

Tates Creek is an extremely athletic albeit young team. They seem to have found a rhythm on defense as of late. If they stopped Lafayette late they would have been district champions. They are getting better but are far from a great team. Peyton Burke is the QB he has 28 TD's and 6 INT's on the year. Robbie Lofton and Jackson Beerman are a great 1-2 combo at WR. Defensively and the OL TC is weak. Ashland has not played an athletic team like TC yet but TC has been gashed by RB's no where near the ability of Quinton Baker. I think it will be high scoring and exciting. I picked TC but I would not be surprised if they lost also. Living in the Lexington area I get to see a lot of football in this area and they are much improved over what they have been the last few years. I think they are headed in the right direction. I feel as if this game is a toss-up. If TC doesn't come ready on def. though they might just get smacked. I haven't seen them play in a few weeks, been checking some far away from home locales recently so everything is just from the LHL, BGP, twitter etc...

This is an intriguing game for Ashland to close out the regular season. Tates Creek is a "big city" 6A school, which usually means there's no shortage of athletes and speed. I watched some of their game vs Belfry earlier this season and they moved the ball pretty well through the air. They have at least one tall, athletic WR and a good QB. This game could end up looking a lot like the George Washington game.

My question is... How will the Tomcats rebound after such a physically/emotionally draining game vs JC?

These regular season finales that have no bearing on playoff positioning can be hard to get up for, especially when you're driving 2 hours away for it.

I could be interesting to see how Ashland rebounds in this one. As others have stated, games like this really have no meaning towards the playoffs but going into the playoffs on a 2 game skid isn't exactly ideal either. I think both teams do everything they can to win. With that said I'm going with Ashland against an improved and athletic Tates Creek team.

Now this is what I would call a trap game for Ashland. Tates Creek is good, they are underrated by many, tough loss last week for Ashland, travel issue, playoffs next week ... don't be surprised by a Tates Creek win.

Ashland played an extremely athletic team in George Washington (WV).

Creek will give Ashland some problems with their Offense.

They do a great job of passing quickly to negate any pass rush... their best Rush Offense is their short passing game. They will dink and dunk you as long as you let them, then when you get sucked in they will throw it up to 6'5 Beerman and let him make a play.

I think Tates Creek gives Ashland some issues with this type of Offense. With that said, Tates Creek is simply not in the same hemisphere as Ashland up front and the Tomcats will gain lots of yards. Expect Baker to put up a monster stat line.

Ashland will have a hang-over from last weeks tough loss but O'Byran, Baker are to much and the best players on the field. 34-14 TOMCATS!!!
