  1. Those teams may be on the rise but I watched West Carter get dominated by Lawrence last year in the playoffs. They made some plays in some onside kicks and Lawrence let off the gas and made the score much closer than the game really was. I still think there is a gap in talent between the 2 districts in the region, but that is just my thoughts. Bottom line is I am not sure it matters who wins the district and who is runner up. All it does is decide if Belfry beats you in the 2nd round or if Lawrence beats you. (Not trying to take anything away from a district title. It is an accomplishment to be proud of for sure, but I still feel this is a very weak district)
  2. Hope that Russell has a solid season. They have the luxury of playing in one of the weaker districts in AAA, but they have the Big Red Machine from Pond Creek in the region so I guess it all balances out. If I am Russell I feed Conley early and often. He is a special player IMO.
  3. Heard rumblings that Coach Derosset had a bit of a struggle in keeping his job this offseason. Also heard that assistant Shawn Hager and Derosset were not seeing eye to eye. Hope this was not true. Eastern KY football is better when P'burg is at a high level.
  4. This was one of the most athletic plays I have ever seen in a NBA Finals game. This is right up there with Jordan switching hands vs the Lakers as two moments that when I saw it I jumped out of my chair and screamed. Amazing
  5. Lebron is the best basketball player I have seen in my lifetime and that includes Jordan. He may not be the stone cold killer Jordan was and if I was coaching and had to pick someone to take the last second shot it would be Jordan, but if I had to build a team around 1 player at any time James is my pick. His game elevated everyone around him IMO. I always felt like Jordan pulled others along in his greatness, while Lebron leads you to greatness while making you believe you are better than you really are because of his talents. Just my thoughts.
  6. That is a big get for Netflix. They may become the unofficial Dinsey streaming site.
  7. Quinton Baker was as special of a running back that I have seen in person at the high school level. I am by no means an Ashland fan but he was special. I hate to hear this and hope this is his 1 young stupid mistake. I agree with posts above that this was probably not his first mistake, but the important thing is that it is his last. If he cleans up the things going on off the field he will have an opportunity to do some special things on the field. Praying for this kid.
  8. I agree on both thoughts. Loved the fact that Judge Ito resembled the real Judge Ito so much. I didn't think that Gooding Jr did a bad OJ but I never thought he was OJ. Best part was for this series to be great (To me it was great) I didn't have to love OJ. The other actors and actresses were more interesting as I felt I know enough on OJ
  9. Being a UK fan I hate to hear Allen is coming back. He is going to make an impressively talented Duke team even better. As a college basketball fan I love it. College basketball is better when Duke has a player that the rest of the country loves to hate. Allen does himself no favors and some of his antics would have cost him a beating in my neighborhood but there is no denying his competitiveness. Looking forward to a GREAT Champions Classic this year.
  10. Dylan is a really good high school basketball player. He is what I would call a great spot up shooter and has a nose for the basketball. He is also a GREAT KID from a very good family. On the flip side he is somewhat of a betweener for me. He is not a post player with his size but not a wing with his athleticism when looking at the next level IMO. He has solid size but is a little slow of foot and can struggle getting open looks against athletic opponents. I don't think he will make a serious run at Mr. Basketball but I do think he will be the best player in the 15tn region next year and one of the better high school players in the state even if he is not a great college prospect.
  11. I am the furthest thing from an Obama supporter, but I have no issue with him attending the baseball game. I disagree with Obama at nearly every turn but him sitting in the Oval Office does nothing to help the situation any more than sitting in Cuba.
  12. I do a buffalo chicken dip. Really easy and GREAT on a salad. *4-6 Boneless skinless chicken breasts - frozen (We use Tyson) * 1 packet of Hidden Valley dip mix poured on top of chicken breasts * 1 tablespoon of butter * 1 regular size bottle of Frank's Red Hot Wing sauce * Heat on low for 8 hours then pull apart with forks * Add 1 block of cream cheese in 1/4 increments mixing and allowing to fully melt prior to next increment * Once all cream cheese is melted serve and eat. Good on salad, nachos, buns, taco shells, and any other way you can think. Heats up great also.
  13. I couldn't agree more. Cal is the perfect fit for UK in this environment of college basketball. I do not think he is the greatest coach of all time. I do not think he is the best UK coach of all time. But at this point with college basketball's situation there is no one I would rather have.
  14. Didn't the Paige kid at WVU go to Perry Central as a senior?
  15. This is how I feel. If you would have asked me 2 months ago I would have bet everything that he was gone. Now I think he goes only if he chooses to. Pitino is one of the best coaches in the country no doubt, but there is a lot going on at UofL and the basketball coach is not the most important issue right at this moment IMO.
  16. Probably a good move for SC. They need to try and generate some wins and get some excitement back in the program. Hard to do that when Belfry, Pikeville, and Lawrence on the slate. Hope McCoy can turn it around. Will be a tough task. Hager left that place in a real tough spot by not working the youth programs like he should have. Now I know with the decline in population and employment opportunities it would have been a struggle regardless, but it should not have been as bad as it was and that rests on Hager IMO.
  17. I don't see why this is such a big deal. Did he deserve a T? Not in my eyes, but I am a UK fan and I love to see passion in the game from any player of any team. Do I understand why he got a T? Of course. He spiked the ball. Great learning point for what seems to be a great kid.
  18. Clinton is the worst kind of politician in my eyes. A highly intelligent person who thinks the rules don't apply to her. Some would say she resembles Trump but there is a difference in a business person having that attitude and a politician IMO. I would vote for anyone and I mean anyone over Clinton. If Clinton is elected president I guess the only thing I will have to look forward to is the rapture.
  19. As a UK fan I always like to get after my UofL friends, but this is sad. The players involved in this mess are long gone and the current players have done nothing wrong as far as I know. I would like to say that I do respect UofL for going the route and owning up to the mistake and self-imposing the penalty. UNC should take note about how to make the best of a bad situation.
  20. For me the list would be (In no order) Jordan Lebron Shaq Wilt Kareem Magic Bird Duncan West Big O
  21. I think (and hope) Brady has all that he is going to get. I think that Brady should be considered the GOAT but with the talent around him I don't see him getting another unless they bring in some help.
  22. Brady just can't seem to win the big one........... LOL I could barley get it out. Glad to see Manning get another shot at the Super Bowl in Denver. He will have his hands full with the Panthers though. As much as I dislike the Patriots, Brady is like Michael Jordan in the 4th quarter. He may not always win but he will put on a show and make it interesting.
