Belfry 41 Johnson Central 0

Be careful reading into this score

With that said:

-Belfry is really good and definitely a 3A Title Threat

-Johnson Central rested some banged up starters including Workman, Matney kind of played it close to the vest

- Johnson Central will look like a whole new team in a few weeks when the playoffs get tighter

- Ray Horton is the best Defensive Player in Kentcky when he brings his A Game

- X Willis gains 189 yards on 6 carries and 3 TD's,, the last 12 times he has touched the ball has led to 6 TD's. He is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic Offensive Threats in 3A

Spot on analysis @ATLCat. With the way Belfry played tonight, dont think it would have mattered if JC's first string would have played. Congrats to the Pirates as they look primed to make another title run. JC got humbled tonight but will be fine. Horton is the most dominate presence on defense I have seen in the state this year, and yes I have watched Kash Daniel play.

All around dominant performance in all facets. Belfry's Offense is finally starting to find their mojo and timing.

Aside from Horton who was unblockable the entire Belfry Front 7 played well and the Pirate LB'ers really played well. Devin Wellman averaged probably 52 yards per punt.

JC

115 Total Yards on 43 PLays

Belfry

30 carries, 273 yards, 5 passes 117 yards

Willis 189, 3 TD

3/5 117 yards 2 TD, 1 TD Rushing

390 Total Yards

Mattney must play in the eky pick em contest lol.

Total bologna if u don't think Belfry would have beat JC tonight no matter who was playing.

The way Belfry dominated up front there is no doubt they win

I think it is a closer game when both are playing full strength.. at the same time anyone who dismisses this Belfry win as a fluke is severely reaching.

Pirates are the real deal

It does beg the Question though:

Are Johnson Central and Ashland fans a little concerned about their Defense after the result of tonight's games?

Cant speak for Ashland, but JC is not worried. Young kids and young line made mistakes all night and will learn from it.

If a team can pass they can score on Ashland. If they are strictly a running team they're going to struggle moving the ball against Ashland. Been that way all year.

Congrats to the Pirates. Starters or not, you all were definitely the better team. 4 lineman couldn't have blocked Horton tonight. A man among boys tonight.

Although a few players were out for JC tonight, it appeared they played flat and uninspired football. The fumble on the kick return appeared to break there sails. Belfry did nothing in this game different than in other meetings, just executed it better. Hopefully JC can shake this off with what should be 2 manageable home games before workman is back at QB.

Good thing Cabell midland 15 miles from being in ky

If CM was in Kentucky they would be in 6A

People seemingly got in arms about it...but I still insist CM could play with and beat any team in KY not named Male. Dead ringer for Simon Kenton IMHO and a Top 3 overall team in the KY if they played her.

What is the deal with Workman?
