Through 10 games Central has forced 30 turnovers. 17 Interceptions and 13 Fumble Recoveries.

 

What's even more remarkable is 11 of those turnovers were returned for TD's. That is ridiculous!

 

They literally are averaging a Defensive TD per game.

Very impressive. This is one team I haven't had a chance to see this season.

I watched the Belfry/Central game last year. Central looked terrible all game, but because of this stat they had the ball and chance in the last 1 minute of the game. It is a sight to see.

That game looked like it was going to be a blowout early on. Give Coach Scroggins a lot of credit, the toughness (mental & physical) that they play with is impressive.

Belfry had out gained them 352-114 until the last drive and Central had only 7 First Downs...yet they still had a chance to tie or win the game because of that play.

 

As a Belfry fan:

Central has returned 3 fumbles and an INT for TD's in Championship games against Belfry.

 

2007: Pick 6 on the last play of the Half. Belfry went from a 10-7 lead to trailing 14-10. Central got the ball to open the Half and quickly scored to lead 21-10.

 

2010: Central forced 5 Belfry turnovers and a Fumble Return and INT Return broke the game wide open. Central only outgained Belfry by 70 yards but won 46-7.

 

2012: Belfry had drove the ball to the Central 25 but fumbled after a completed pass. Central returned it 31 yards then scored on the short field. It was the only TD Central scored in a game that went to OT tied 6-6. Belfry held Central to 176 Total Yards.

 

2014: The 56 yard Fumble Return for a TD was Central's lone score but kept them in it until the end despite Belfry dominating everywhere but the scoreboard.

 

I honestly don't know how they are so good at returning turnovers or forcing them. I honestly think College Coaches could even learn from Scroggins because it is a thing of beauty once they get it in the open field on Defense.

1) They will make it out of Round 1... And it will be a crooked score.

2) IMO, if they score a defensive TD, I think they will win against anyone in the playoffs - Boyle included.

When they are on defense, it's almost as though they think they have the ball and that's been the way they approach it for years now. I love it.

They play Western Hills in Round 1.

 

Also, if they pick Boyle "17 times or more" in the second round I suspect they'll win. I would also expect Chuck Smith to be fired immediately!

Lol guys! Let's just say I hope they have not ran out of INTs for that second round game. If this game happens, it's the most anticipated game of the year for a few.

Those stats are mind blowing.
