It was a defensive classic!! Ashland D was up to the challenge 1 pass and 2 point conversion beats us.

I usually don't question play calling at the end of a game but they ran this play to Brown about 3 times where he was supposed to probably throw a wheel route to Dowdy that he never even threw and ran and turned into big yards luckily or the game would be over. Then the final play they threw this Jet sweep pass from Baker that I think he was over the line anyways.

 

 

Ashland should have kicked the FG at the goal line the first quarter too

I made it in the 4th quarter. No passing game for Ashland and they had to move the ball fast at the end...bad combo. Great atmosphere though

Interesting towards the end of the game the coaching staff wanted Brown/Baker throwing the ball.

IMO Ashland was the better team. I admit I didn't give them the credit and respect going into the game. They made a believer out of me tonight.

 

It was definitely a great game, and I congratulate Johnson Central for getting the win.

 

Ashland's defense was OUTSTANDING tonight. O'Bryan is an absolute BEAST. He also made one of the best catches I've ever seen in a high school game. Laying out full extension to make an unbelievable catch. Unfortunately a lineman down field voided that big catch that gave Ashland the ball deep in Johnson Central territory.

JC 7 first downs about 170 yds (missed the actual number)

Ashland was the better team but sometimes that's not enough. JC had 150 yards of offense and 7 first downs. I don't mean that to be disrespectful of JC because they have a great program, I was just surprised.

 

To be honest, going into the game I thought JC would win by 2 touchdowns.

I look forward to a possible rematch with Johnson Central.

The punting game was huge for Johnson Central tonight too. It made a big difference in field position all night.
