Boone County vs Beechwood
Theoldman12 replied to AirYardGo's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I'd have to say that Smith is very athletic and I think he'll be fine in that aspect. Earls will have a big advantage in his strength as he is much stronger than Smith, but I don't know if that will be much of a factor because Early is more of a face up guy rather than back to the basket player. -
Boone County vs Beechwood

I agree and I think it will be a close game, but Beechwood will be exhausted by the end of the 4th which will hurt them. -

Greatest Upsets in District Tournament Play

Tomorrow night? Do you mean Friday? -
As well as, from what I hear, a strong freshman class coming in. Not that anyfreshman will get a ton of varsity minutes next year, but it's a light of hope that they can keep being a quality team in Division III.

I love this Brossart team. They aren't the most athletic or tallest team, but they play with 110% percent and the most heart that I have seen this year. I wish every team could play the way they do. -

That has to be nice for them. They will be returning him as well as Smith who both can shoot well. -

Holmes 45 Holy Cross 24
Theoldman12 replied to Shutitdown's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Actually just recently the games between these two haven't been what you call pretty. If we look at the history of these two against each other there have been some very fierce battles. Also, what's wrong with the HC faithful thinking there was a chance because there really was a chance it just didn't happen and I wish everyone on Holmes good luck through the region and hopefully down state. Also you don't have to emphasize that Holmes won big we all saw the score. -
According to the link that was given Vories won it in 2006, which would have been Hill's junior year.

I think we all did. I heard they're just going to go ahead and play the finals tomorrow of Holmes vs. Beechwood tomorrow since HC has no chance according to most people. -

The three that went in then out for Shover was a heart dropper. With everything he has been through he deserved for that to go in. When he did come in early he gave them 5 points early with a pull up jumper and a drive and kick out for Ives to get an open look at three. Overall, congratulations to Beechwood and Cov Cath for a well played game. -

NKY Division Standings

Now that HC beat St. Henry does anyone have a clue on how the standings look? -
NKY Division Standings
Theoldman12 replied to The Observer's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The game from the All "A" of Holy Cross vs. St. Henry doesn't count for the standings, I don't know if you added that in there or not. Also, how in Division II are there supposed to be a total of 7 games when there are only 6 total teams? -
Newport 53 Bishop Brossart 52
Theoldman12 replied to Mustang's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
How is that? Holy Cross beat Newport and I believe their only loss was to Brossart in division II, but I could be wrong. Sorry I know this is off topic, but who is in division II this will clear things up. On the game this is a very big game for Newport as they are playing very well it seems. If I am Highlands i'm not looking forward to playing them in the districts as when they are on they can play with anybody just depends on what attitude they bring to the game. -

How is the division II looking. Who is at #1 for it or who are the front runners? -
35th District @ Holy Cross Boys/Girls
Theoldman12 replied to B-Ball-fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Would be good if it could happen, but there are way to many games to be played and I don't think you would be able to fit in every single game. -

:thumb:. Great post. Some people just don't realize that anything could happen. Also, what is that saying to the kids on the team especially the seniors if you change districts to somewhere else just for the money. -

My guess would be no because if I am Cov Cath or Beechwood then I would be mad that Holmes is getting home court advantage. -

Two more regular nights for him and he will get there. If he has an off night either of the next two games and Cov Cath doesn't beat Beechwood then he won't get there. -

Do they have any more games before the 35th district game against Beechwood?
