Don't forget Coach Hitch. Excellent first base coaching in the pivotal moments against GRC. When their regular first base coach had to step out. He also coached 6 of the starting 9 for a couple of years at the JV level and was pivotal in their development.

Brady is playing varsity now. He has 2 varsity wins on the mound, and was 3 for 5 against SK on Saturday.

Congrats to Briley Seiter who committed to Eastern Nazarene University yesterday. Briley has had a long, but successful high school career that started as a 6th grader pitching in varsity district games against Campbell Co. and the other big schools. Head coach, Addison Rouse, is getting one of the more committed players NKY has to offer.

Harrison County is always a tough foe. Montgomery County will be improved. What about Mason County? Seems that I see a lot of talk about them on this site recently.

Daniel Mowhorter of Calvary will do big things. A very athletic kid who will hit for average. Daniel plays summers for the Kentucky Kids.

Pretty solid hire considering how things lingered. I know they had a couple of very good candidates in house that would have been happy to take the reins if things had moved more swiftly. Anyway, should be a very good thing for Newport. A change of those in charge is sometimes a great thing. Dennis is a very good guy, and really knows the game. It's just hard to right the ship once you have lost it. I really hope he lands on his feet somewhere.

Completely have to agree. Bellevue does a heck of a job on their tournament. Especially when you consider they don't even host it on a football field. Impressive...

I'd imagine the program can make at least somewhat of a bounce back in the future. There is still talent there, but it's getting it out and keeping interest in the program.

Same here. From the chatter in the off-season I wouldn't view Bellevue as a surprise. They didn't sneak up on anyone, I don't think.

On Monday Bellevue senior Brian Dill threw a perfect game in a 17-0 5 inning win over the Newport Wildcats. He threw only 56 pitches in the process. Sopomore Brady Hayes made a twisting, twirling catch in left to preserve the perfect game for Dill and the Tigers. This is a no-hitter, and a perfect game in back to back weeks for Bellevue. Keep the ball rolling!

Yep... You're right Bellevue has played 2 schools ranked in the state of Ohio and 3 in Kentucky along with some nky ranked teams. Probably cancelled because they're afraid to lose since they've never been concerned about records before. Lol...

Seiter threw in the 6th grade, but he went to Silver Grove then. No offense to the Grove, but he kind of HAD to pitch. He probably was their best option however, even as a 6th grader. They didn't have the numbers to give him JV time, and allow him to develop the slow way. He wouldn't have thrown varsity as a 6th grade at Bellevue. It did wonders for his demeanor on the mound through. He has so much experience, and has seen it all. He fears no one.

I know Seiter has something like a 1.31 ERA, and a 5-2 record. Not bad considering he has starts against Pendelton Co. (who can really hit), CovCath, NCC, and Lloyd (who is no slouch hitting). Had he not been on the wrong end of a costly error, and clearly erroneous call in the CovCath game he doesn't give up the 5 runs that he did there! Kid can really pitch! I truly mean the word pitch too. He has to work in and out, up and down because he may not even break a window if he crow hopped and threw with all he had. Just makes his stats that much more impressive in my opinion.
