  1. Exactly right, plus at all the tournaments, Montgomery won't accept coaching cards which I know for a fact has kept some area coaches from attending. They also do this at the Rec bowl as well which I think is silly. You're dead on it though, 5 bucks a pop is hard if you take say a family of 4. By the time you eat at the concessions you've got at least $30 in a night at a high school basketball game.
  2. I've been to three Montgomery home games and attendance seems to be way down for the Indians. Not sure what the problem is. I was really shocked at the turnout at the home opener.
  3. I've been watching the box scores for Bath, what has happened to the Helton girl that played a lot last year as a freshman?
  4. That's what I thought. Thanks for the clarification. Hope Montgomery people remember complaining about Rison's soft schedules when judging this record. Greisser has played an awfully tough schedule this season and paid for it.
  5. Azery Crisp at Montgomery is a solid player that should be their leader next year.
  6. I thought the paper was wrong the other day when they had them at 8-9 after the Franklin loss. They were actually 8-10 after that game right?
  7. Well for Bath, Hicks was I think the 4th coach in 4 years when they brought him in, so Bath had no stability at all, they also had underachieved with the talent they had. They also have a really good group of Juniors and Seniors right now plus they had an excellent talent in Blandon Clemons last year who is now playing at Kentucky Christian. I think folks will get a better picture of how good Hicks is in the next couple of seasons with classes that aren't as strong coming up. Although he does have a good 8th grade bunch right now on it's way. That group was I think 21-1 last year as 7th graders, although in typical Bath fashion they let go the coach that was running the middle school program and doing a great job it seemed.
  8. Good point, if these young Rose Hill guys all stay at Rose Hill, (I know that's a big IF) they will be the juggernaut in the 16th the next few years.
  9. Hicks also fell into some nice talent that's at Bath right now. To his credit though he has gotten them to perform.
  10. Excellent point...look at the overall body of work for Mayes.
  11. Meeks' body is more pro ready. Curry will have to find a niche in the NBA and will mainly just be a shooter. Meeks can rebound, defend, and has demonstrated he obviously has NBA range. I know we throw around the world upside a lot, but Meeks definately has the bigger upside right now.
  12. Recruiting out of this world???? Have you watched his in state recruits play??? Granted he picked up Patterson last second, hopefully Miller and Liggins will work out well, Orton is highly ranked but he's also got commitments from Euton, Zollo, Ross-Miller, Vilarino, all who are not getting glowing reports from the experts. It's a little too early to say he's done well with the recruiting.
  13. Will hurt Clark more than Montgomery, although Montgomery is already thin in the post. I'll say Clark 75 Montgomery 65 in this one.
  14. I'd worry about Boyd County, they return some pretty good sophomores and juniors from a 7-5 district winner.
  15. Menifee beat Bath at Bath by double digits, plus Rowan and Fleming. No way they aren't top 5 based on wins. What I can't figure out is how Both Rowan and Bath are rated ahead of them in Cantrall's rankings and they've already beaten both of them.
  16. I'm high on Clark because of Stenzel, and Rogers to be honest...Zollo in my opinion is the third best player on this team.
  17. Looks like a pretty good estimation. I would probably slide Estill County into the slot for 14th Region, but just my opinion. Also think Bourbon could challenge Harrison in the 10th. The 16th is pretty wide open with Greenup, East Carter, Boyd all having solid teams.
  18. Apparently so. According to these rankings, Elliott should win every game in the 16th region by at least 40. I agree they have the best collection of talent in the region, but I wouldn't rank 6 of their players in the top 10.
  19. Folks will be hard pressed to find a collection of games to match these until the State Tournament. Several ranked teams and great games. Anderson, J-Town, Madison Central, Manual, South Laurel and Elliott were all impressive and could be in Lexington in March. Great event.
  20. I would put Metz and Maze for Bath higher up the list. Bath doesn't have much else around those two and they carry them most every night.
  21. I think this ranking is closer. I'd put Montgomery up around 4 or 5. GRC by season's end will be stronger than Mason. IMO
  22. I think after the tough win Saturday this game will be a "trap" game for the Lions. If they come out sluggish they could be in for an upset, especially with it being played at East.
