  1. Within 30 minutes of Ashland, Boyd County, Elliott, Morgan, Rose Hill, Fairview, Raceland, Greenup, West Carter, East Carter and Russell??? The only ones within 30 minutes on a bus would be Rowan, Bath, and Menifee. Unfortunately, Montgomery is on the outskirts of just about any region they would be able to join. Distance wise it almost makes more sense to send Montgomery to the 11th with Clark if that were to happen.
  2. This may be the best game of the first round. Mason is on a roll, but I'll have to take the Valley by 4.
  3. I agree with one of the posts above that the three venue rotation is the best way to go about things in this region with it all spread out and no large venue located in the the middle of it. Rotate it between Mason, Montgomery, and BOKC each year.
  4. Psssst...Montgomery had to drive through Winchester to get there. Still no excuse for lack of fans though. :idunno:
  5. May happen, but wouldn't be a good move for them, in my opinion. Who would replace them in the 16th and 61st?
  6. I wasn't dissing the 16th dude, the quote said region titles are hard to come by in the 10th, Fleming plays in the 16th so it would be pretty tough for them to win the 10th.
  7. Metz is listed as 6'0 I think but he's actually about 5'10. Course he's about 5'10 across the shoulders too! Would like to see Lewis win this one, but think Bath will edge by then get obliterated by Elliott.
  8. Although I had a gut feeling Montgomery would upset Harrison who I thought was overrated all year, the Indians have had a tough year themselves. Gotta go with Mason 75 to 60 in this one.
  9. The 11th region schools would be my guess for toughest schedules. This is a guess based on past experience and without looking at everyone in the state's schedules.
  10. Man could flat out coach and loved the way he emphasized defense.
  11. He very well could stay at Bath where they seem to not be bothered by his antics like everyone else in the 16th is. His talent level is going to drop the next few years but he may think he's got a good thing in Owingsville.
  12. I think there actually was a barbecue fatality last year. :puke:
  13. Most of the teams play two games a day while down there, with a day off to visit with their families. Although some of the games are looked at or labeled as "JV" games. :ylsuper:
  14. What happened to Harris? He left Berea for this job didn't he? Was he fired or just give it up?
  15. The facilities at the expo need to be upgraded, but it is a good opportunity to play a lot of games. I agree it's definately not a vacation for the players or the coaches at all. They stay in dorms and it's all baseball, all the time. Definite advantage for teams that go though. Especially early in the season when it's hard to get games in due to weather here in the state.
  16. Sure makes it a whole lot easier to have the best team with the best player though. I'll take Montgomery by 4 71-67.
  17. Wow, Lee won the district but definately got the worse end of the draw getting Hazard while Estill draws Wolfe. Estill gets their act together they could make a run with PCC having a tough opening game and the long travel.
  18. Actually it's around $600 for Boyd's kids to go, probably varies per school. It crams a lot of baseball into a week and certainly is an advantage over other schools early in the year.
  19. Hey once again the Indians got a good draw. Basically getting a winable game against a a district winner. Get into the semis and you never know what could happen.
