  1. All of these and I would add Menifee to that list.
  2. Clark hasn't even dominated their own district the past 25 years. At one point in the late 80's early 90's Montgomery was the dominant team in the 40th. In fact, I think from 1986-87 (Bart Rison's first year at Montgomery) to 2006-7 (his final year) Montgomery won 12 district titles.
  3. Indians got whipped on the boards more than anything. Anderson has a nice team, good size, athletic, just wore Montgomery down. When MC isn't hitting the threes consistently, they struggle a bit. When they're hitting, very tough team to beat.
  4. I made that assertion on the other thread about best players, and got flogged!
  5. Chadwell was 6'2, could jump out of the gym, shoot the three. I watched him dominate NAIA competition at Georgetown and played against both he and Farmer when they were at Clay...I wouldn't live on the difference...Farmer was great, but he was great because he had some great players with him as well. Heck Pelphrey and Feldhaus had better UK careers than Farmer and had less talent around them in high school. Not saying Farmer wasn't a great high school player, I was just saying Chadwell was right there with him.
  6. I'm not sure Kiser broke that or not, I remember it was some guy I'd never heard of at Estill that had the record. Course Long and Johnson have half their scoring at Irvine High or would be way up that list. Skipper Johnson in his day was a dominating center. I've also heard that Charlie Henry was awful tough for old Irvine High. I played against him later on in rec leagues when he was in his later 30's and 40's and still a heck of a player, could light it up from anywhere.
  7. The problem for Bath is the two weak classes in front of them. They lose some studs that I'm not sure the freshmen can replace next year.
  8. Has anyone checked to make sure the nets aren't still smoldering? Whew.
  9. Agree, Stamper would be tough to argue out of Lee County, although they had some good ones back in the 50's that played there as well.
  10. I would add Tony Muncie, Skip Johnson, and Larry Long to this list although Johnson and Long played their first two seasons for old Irvine High before the consolidation. I've also heard that Guy Strong was a heck of a player for old Irvine High School.
  11. I would put Keith Peirsall and Ken Lee on this list as well. Good solid players. I think Fawns is the best ever out of MCHS though.
  12. I would argue that on any given night, Russ Chadwell was just as good as Farmer for Clay County. Fantastic player.
  13. Ability isn't always the sole reason for playing time for kids. Sometimes you're a good player who happens to be behind a slightly better player. Matt Cassell would argue that point. Me personally, I'd rather see the field or court or whatever and work my butt off to win a ring.
  14. I'll take Scott in a close one this time, by March I'll take Clark County....or to be on the safe side I'll say I'm going with the Cards to win this one.
  15. Most pro players can't hit a jumpshot like Elliott's shooters can either or are as fundamentally sound. :thumb:
  16. My son watched this game and Elliott only played starters 1st and 3rd. Hey you have to play the game. I'm all for sportsmanship, but sometimes you're just overmatched.
  17. Kindred built that program initially. Not anything against Robinson, or High or Newkirk before her for that matter, but the talent on that team is greatly due to Lea Prewitt working with those girls in AAU constantly.
  18. Until Scott consistently beats Montgomery or wins the 10th tourney, would be craziness to say they're the favorite. Montgomery has owned this region the past few years.
  19. Who would have thought 15 years ago that this game would get predictions like this? My how times have changed. Unless Elliott's team comes down with the flu, the bus has a flat tire, or they play 2 on 5 this game will get ugly fast and then just get uglier, and uglier.
  20. I know for a series of years in the late 80's and 90's Coach Rison had Clark's number. It has since swung back towards Clark. After watching the game I had a few thoughts. 1. No matter how many times I see Stenzel play, going back to middle school, he still impresses me. The kid can just flat out play. 2. Zollo appears to be a legit 6'8 but he's got a ways to go to be SEC caliber. Then again he's only a sophomore. 3. That Clark has a sophomore laden team really makes one think they are just beginning to really come together and are scratching the surface of what they could be in March which is the opposite of Montgomery who relies on several seniors. I think as the year progresses Clark will separate itsself from Montgomery. 4. I was impressed with the effort Montgomery gave. I thought this game would be worse than it was. Montgomery battled until the very end and Clark didn't put them away until abou 3 minutes remained.
  21. Time will probably come in the next season or two, Bath doesn't have a lot coming up. If Hicks stays there after this season. If he did leave his starters in, and evidently he did, I agree, it's classless.
  22. I don't see how he could be. Unless he has a late growth spurt and gets to 6'10 or so, can' see him seeing the floor much at Kentucky. I watched him 3 times last season and he did not do anything to make me think he could play in the SEC. I think Jackson could be solid D1 player with a little work on his jumpshot.
