Xs and Os Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I thought it was a huge success, I am sure there are things that could be changed, what are your thoughts?
Grcfan4life Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Student Sections! I was down there on the GRC side and the students were only aloud to stand on one side because the BOKC staff wanted to keep the other side for either Holmes/Boone students. I know this is a good idea but for a game that starts 1 hour and 30 minutes later I think it would have been alright to allow the students on the section beside where they ended up. It was eventually resolved no thanks to staff of the BOKC the students and band director came to an agreement and the band moved back to allow the students in the front. All week long students were allowed to stand on the section beside there band but for some reason things were different tonight. If you are going to enforce something like this all week not just championship night. Other than a few piddly things the BOKC was OK.
bigblueinsanity Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 When leaving it seemed to take awhile after the games were over finding an exit. It looked to be only one way to leave the BOK when you got in your car. Great place for Basketball Though.

Agree 100%, everything was great, except exiting the event, sat in one place for 35 minutes and I'm sure there were some sitting much longer.

gchs_uk9 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 How did everyone like playing all four first round games on Saturday?

You were probably in the same garage I was waiting in. Also, the narrow stairways to get out of the arena with a large crowd was poor planning. Very dangerous with all those people exiting down such a small area of steps. I feared that someone was going to fall and cause a ripple effect. Inside the game area of the arena was excellent, although a little hot.
Theoldguy Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 My guess is the traffic flow is geared to exit out onto I-275 but were you all trying to go south on US 27? I had no problems at all leaving and in fact was home in around 25 minutes but as I said I use the I-275 exit and don't get anywhere near US 27..

mhighfield Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I thought the BOK was a great facility,Stunning and not a bad seat in the house.Ill give it a :thumb: up and be glad to play there anytime.
Eagle2013 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Can you image how hot it would have been in a HS gym tonight! That many people wouldn't have fit in a High School gym. I do remember it being really hot at Conner last year though.

I was sitting in a parking garage for about 30 minutes. I think the cops were stopping traffic and giving priority for certain areas to clear out first.

That wasn't the problem took almost 40 minutes just to get out of the parking garage, after that it was smooth sailing to 27.
