Sugar Daddy is one big Mason Co. supporter. But I do agree with him in that the 10 region did not have the atmosphere as it does playing in the 10 th region gyms. Personally, I did not care for the two regional finals in the same gym, the same night: It just doesn't seem right and near as exciting. thumb::ylsuper:

So I guess after Mason County plays at Rupp on Thursday @ 6:30pm, then they should just shut it down and Anderson and Elliott Counties should just wait until Friday to play because it's just isn't as exciting to watch two outstanding hs games in one night? Wow.... Another Mason County Fan who just doesn't get it, that the world has changed and doesn't evolve around Maysville, Mason County, and the Fieldhouse any longer! :idunno::idunno:

I have been a Mason Co. fan all my life and only known The Fieldhouse to put on the 10th Regional Tournament all except for the year at Clark Co., and though we will all agree BOK did not have the same feel and atmosphere this year,(can you imagine the bands, the students, the fans packed on top of each other?) I can understand the other schools reasons for not wanting to hold it at Mason Co. except for money. I knew going in to the BOK that the traffic was going to bad, the food more expensive, and the atmosphere was not going to be the same. Evolution sometimes is not percieved as a good thing at times, and as I get older and more mature and think with my head more than my heart, I realize times change and in this case for the better. I enjoyed the game, had a good seat, good parking place, missed the tip-off, but got to see 99 percent of the game, got out in half the time as it got to get in, didn't buy any food and enjoyed a nice meal at Barleycorn's after the game and was home by 10. I say we should be thankfull to host the region 2 out of 4 years and count our blessings. We had good run at the Fieldhouse, made alot of money for the 10th Region, but times change, and we as fans of basketball in general need to change our way of thinking too!

Several people keeps comparing the Tenth Region Tourney with Rupp. Concessions, Parking, Tickets and double sessions. The Regional tournaments should not be compared to the State tournaments. The Regions are obviously not on the same scale as the Greatest show in Hoops. The BOK tourney should be compared to the tourneys at the Fieldhouse and at Montgomery but not Rupp. If your team is lucky enough to make it to Rupp, fans don't mind paying the extra but not on the Regional level. It shold not cost you the same to go the the Region as it does the State.

I believe it would have cost me $10.00 to watch 2 games at the Fieldhouse, it only cost me $8 at the BOKC and my seat and the temperature was a lot more comfortable. It wouldn't bother me to see the 10th Region at the BOKC every year, even if it is a longer drive.:thumb::popcorn:

Just curious why you think it will be hosted 2 out of 4 years??

I would think the 38th Harrison & Pendleton wouldn't mind the BOKC and probably Nicholas & Sugar Daddy's Deming voting for the Fieldhouse.

I for one always liked the fieldhouse but now that it was held at the BOKC I like the alternative better. It sure was nice to have a great seat and actually be able to see the scoreboard.

Like I said, I would not presume what the other districts would do, and maybe I am hoping for 2 out of 4 and lucky to get 1 out of every 3 years, but depending on the relationships between Mason Co. and Bracken, Deming and Augusta that they would vote for us. Harrison is not figured in my scenario because they were moved to the 11th or 8th Region in my redistricting.

Let's face it some, not all, Mason fans will never get over the region being anywhere but the Fieldhouse. It is time to move on and the BOK was a more than adequate facility. A couple of tweaks on seating and the atmoshere will get better. The arena is a nice facility, we attended every 10th region session and never had trouble parking and the drive is managable even for GRC and Montgomery fans. Agreed the food prices were a bit high, but really not out of line very much for that type of arena and I do agree that the ushers were a bit intense, at least those down near the floor, but neither of those issues are dealbreakers. I hope to have more regional finals there, if GRC stays in the 10th, which I hope.

I thought it was a huge success, I am sure there are things that could be changed, what are your thoughts?

Need to do something about ticket sells

I've been to Montgomery Co.'s two facilities and they are very impressive . Never been to Mason Co's Fieldhouse . If it is better than Montgomery Co's It must be a palace indeed . Can someone post a picture of both Montgomery Co. and Mason Co's. facilities so that they can be compared ?

The Fieldhouse is indeed a very nice "older gym" (no disresptct meant by saying it is an "older gym"). It reminded me (on a smaller scale) of the Butler University gym in the movie Hoosiers and while it is a nice gym, it is a gym, and not a arena. The nicest thing about The Fieldhouse is the history that has taken place there, and I loved the uniforms of former Mason County players on the wall. Enjoyed my two trips there and had a great time.

You complained when it was in Montgomery County last year!

You complained when it was in BOKC this year!

The only place you won't complain about, is on your own back door step!

Your whinning is getting old and get this, it's time to get over the fact that the world does not evolved around Maysville, Ky, the Fieldhouse and Mason County. The fans came out in large numbers, your Schools in the 10th made a lot of money, the majority of the fans had a great time, and the 10th will no longer play every Regional in the Fieldhouse. The sooner you realize that, the better off you will be.....

Couldnt have said it better myself. :thumb: :ylsuper:
