Is Elijah Miller playing for Simon Kenton yet?

A few things that stood out to me last night: I was very surprised at how slow Boone County is. Coopers o-line is about as small as I have seen for a 5a school but had no problem blocking the much bigger Boone defense. Boone's QB really struggled. Struggled to complete simple passes just out of the backfield and seemed to throw the ball as far as he could downfield and hoped for the best. Cooper has a really nice QB. Very poised and accurate. Makes smart decisions. Cooper is very very well coached and the play calling was excellent. Although Cooper has played 3 bad teams so far this year, they are a good team. I don't think they'll be any worse than 2nd in the district. It's going to be another long season for BC. Will they win another game this year?

I know the O-line is young and I know they have a very high ceiling but they are making a lot of mistakes right now and they are about to face the best defensive linemen (Johnson) they will face all year next week. I think its a recipe for disaster. I think its going to be around a .500 year for Scott but I'm with you, Scott is a year away from being really really good.

Not even close! Spot on. This is probably the most unimpressive 57 point win you will ever see. I think the line has a lot of work to do. They just arent very good right now. Aiken was very small and Scotts line had trouble blocking them. I've seen Newport and I've seen Scott and what I seen so far Scott will not beat Newport. Better get a whole lot better in a week.

Newport has a bye this week. They play Scott next week. Scott is at Aiken on Thursday night.

I was told Newport beat one of the Highlands teams the other day. Can anyone confirm? Score?

I wonder how close Newport was to making the top 10 with a nice showing on the road against a top 10 3A team. I believe Newport lost the game with 17 secs to go. Did their effort open up some eyes? Were they in the "next 5"? We will learn more about them tonight.

District play begins the week before. Do they really need rest to prepare for a district they have dominated the last 15 years? Once district play starts, are teams not allowed to play a non district game until the end of district play?

NCC - Scott 15 mins apart. Why wouldn't they try to make this work to give each team a 10th game?

That is what I thought which is more credit to the coaching staff and Price's ability.

CCH = CovCath? Campbell doesn't play CovCath. Campbell and SK have 7 common opponents. Campbell plays Highlands and SK plays the 4A defending State Champs in Collins. One can argue that SK's schedule is tougher than Campbell's.

I bet Campbell County will get a pass for scheduling Holy Cross.

I think Newport may have hit a homerun with Coach Schmitz. I was amazed at how well they were coached last year. Last seasons talent wasn't as good as the talent Newport had 2 seasons ago but last years Newport team would have whipped the team before it. That is a credit to Coach Schmitz and his staff. Whole new attitude from my understanding. Price is being coached well. I believe he was a WR last season. Does anyone know if he ever played QB at any level prior to this season?

This! East Central was down last season and even more down this year. I was told that Lawrenceburg who is not very good this year gave East Central all they could handle in their scrimmage a couple weeks back. The old EC would beat a good Lawrenceburg team by 50+. Not trying to rain on the Camels parade but just putting things in perspective. Nevertheless congrats to the Camels on the win!

How about Scott - NCC on October 3rd? Both of their games were cancelled this past weekend and both have open dates on Oct. 3rd.

I gotta say I am surprised by this ruling. I know they were petitioning to wear those hard hats with the 2 drink holders and straws. But a fanny pack?

Do you think Campbell Cty fans are ashamed for playing the same two teams? Or how about Dixie who scheduled a 2A team and a 1A team?

I heard there were some waterboys attending the Bobby Boucher camp during the "Dry Period".
